    SkyBox™ makes smart solar simple with an advanced technology single-box design, and represents a breakthrough in the field of advanced power conversion, processing and control. The fully integrated design of the SkyBox system eliminates external charge controllers and communication boxes, significantly cutting installation time and cost. Ease-of-installation makes this energy solution ideal for installers interested in following the market’s move towards battery-based systems.

    SkyBox is intended to provide backup power and energy management in urban/suburban areas. These include areas where the grid voltage/frequency is generally stable when grid power is present. SkyBox is not intended for rural electrification or other remote applications where nominal grid voltage regularly varies. A generally accepted definition of nominal grid voltage is as follows: “In North America, the nominal residential voltage is 120 V, with variance allowed from 114 V to 126 V (±5%).

    What is the SkyBox Energy Management System?

    Firmware 1.3.27 saw the launch of the new SkyBox Energy Management System (EMS) 2.0. This release added compatibility with the widest variety of 48V battery chemistries on the market today.

    In addition to that, the 1.3.27 firmware added several features.

    Added features:
    • Configurable battery discharge current limit
    • Lithium SoC Tracking
    • Drop down menu for quick selection of third-party lithium (SimpliPhi, Blue Ion, etc)

    What 48V Batteries are SkyBox Compatible with EMS 2.0?

    The following batteries are supported with EMS 2.0:
    • All EnerSys Lead-Acid
    • Discover AES
    • Blue Ion 2.0
    • Fortress eVault
    • Simpliphi PHI 3.5/3.8
    • Alt-E KiloVault HLX

    SkyBox Stacking

    Did you know you can stack multiple SkyBox systems?

    SkyBox Stacking

    Combine SkyBoxes in electrical parallel to act as a single coordinated system. With two SkyBoxes in parallel, the system will produce up to 40 amps at 240VAC! Stacking in parallel combines the AC output of each individual SkyBox (5kW) and allows each SkyBox to contribute stored energy from its independent battery bank to the stacked system. Ensure you have the power for all your critical loads.
