Designed for UL 1741 SA compliance, the MATE3s System Display and Controller makes it easier than ever to program and monitor a complete OutBack Power system. The MATE3s keeps the same intuitive user interface and integrated system configuration wizard found in the MATE3 to make system setup and programming quick and seamless. The ability to set unique multi-level user passwords makes it possible to secure critical system settings from unintended changes while still allowing open access to necessary functions. The MATE3s can also connect to the OPTICS RE servers for remote monitoring and control.

Overview
Firmware v1.5.2 uses a special two‑phase update process for all Mate3S products (including both known hardware variations).
Critical Warning (Read Before Downloading)
This firmware must be installed in two phases. Failure to follow the required update sequence may brick the device.
When You Should Upgrade to v1.5.2
Upgrade to v1.5.2 if either of the following is true:
  1. Your device was manufactured after 1/1/2026 (required for MAC-related reasons on newer devices).
  2. You have an older device that needs interoperability with the EnergyCell 5 (EC5) Lithium Battery.
When You Should NOT Upgrade (Leave It Alone)
If you have an existing, working installation and you are not using EC5, there is no benefit to updating to v1.5.2. Unnecessary updates can create avoidable risk if your system is working and you don’t need EC5 compatibility, do not update.
