OutBack Power Technology inverters now listed in the California Energy Commission's eligible equipment
Arlington, Wash. – December 19, 2017 – OutBack Power Technologies, Inc., a leader in battery based renewable energy products and systems, today announced an important recognition for its inverters with the recent inclusion of five (5) models on the December 14th, 2017 update to the California Energy Commission’s (CEC) list of eligible solar equipment.
OutBack Power attained UL 1741 SA listing for several of its grid-interactive battery inverters by undergoing rigorous testing over the summer. UL 1741 SA is the testing standard used to certify compliance with California’s Rule 21 governing utility interconnection in the state of California. Their addition to the list of qualified inverters officially enables installers to deploy these inverters in California in any grid-connected, solar plus energy storage system, including Time-of-Use applications.
Brandon Provalenko, vice president of commercial operations at OutBack Power commented, “With Time-of-Use and other emerging renewable energy scenarios becoming such an important part of the California market, we felt it was necessary to dedicate time and resources to earning UL 1741 SA listings in order to meet the needs of our installers and end-users in the state. This also gives installers a CEC listed option for battery-based, grid-connected systems that provide backup power in the event of a grid shutdown.”
Rule 21 compliant inverters listed on the CEC web site include:
- FXR3048A (UL 1741 SA compliant with FW Version 001.006.063)
- VFXR3524A (UL 1741 SA compliant with FW Version 001.006.063)
- VFXR3648A (UL 1741 SA compliant with FW Version 001.006.063)
