Question flexmax80

hello i have a flexmax80 with a mate2 i just bought a second flexmax80 to connect to the same battery pack do i absolutely have to have a hub4 for all to work? Tanks

No, a hub is not strictly needed. The charge controllers operate autonomously, and will charge the battery in parallel.

The 2nd FM80 needs it's own PV array and disconnects, of course.

The 2nd FM80 should be programmed identically to the first.

The Mate will only "see" the charge controller to which it is connected, but for charging, the displays on the FM80s are more relevant than what the Mate might display.

Do you mean Equalization charging?

If one controller can handle it, then activate EQ charge as you do now.

If both chargers are needed, be sure they are programmed identically (EQ Voltage, and EQ Time), then start the EQ Charge cycle on each controller manually.

I also install and maintain grid-tied and off-grid systems, details will be given for these system if required
Location: 80 miles NE of Phoenix at 5500'

There's two ways:

Via software, in Optics RE, and in the FM80 menu -

If that doesn't get the job done, there's a hardware adjustment that can be made.
