What is the near future cost of these panels? Which panels will be the best?

- My RE system: 1 ea. Outback GTFX 2524 , 1 ea. 175 amp dc breaker
18 ea. Schott 230 solar panels. 4 deep cycle batteries and grid- tied to REA with 60 amp ac breaker.
They are typically available in the $1.00 to $2.00 per watt range, with many pallet quantity specials around $1.00 / watt.
The best, from what I've heard, are the Kaneka 60's. Keep in mind that they are not the friendliest panels because their open circuit voltages tend to be rather high. Unlike mono- and poly-crystalline panels, thin-film panels are more often one big cell with a high series voltage and lower current.
