Simpliphi battery setup with Skybox

Post by Mike Curran » Tue Nov 05, 2019 10:35 am

I just installed a Skybox and updated the firmware from 1.2.22 to 1.3.27. The update provided a "Simpliphi" battery option where the previous FW just had a "custom" option. Now I'm trying to configure using the new firmware, and for Simpliphi batteries, the Skybox configuration dialog only offers 2 model number options: 14 and 21. I cannot find any number like these on the batteries or paperwork that came with them. They're model 3.8.

What model number (14 or 21) should I use??? :-k

Thanks, this is probably the first of many more questions. - Mike

Edit: Note I have submitted a tech support request for this, just thought maybe someone on the forum would know the answer.

I got a response from Kim (thanks much!) at OB Tech Support:

"The current drop-down list on SkyBox is only set up for the PHI 3.5 models. We're working on updating the list to include the PHI 3.8. For now, the best thing to do is to choose one of the current selections and change the settings to match those in the app note. This is a better choice than using the custom setting because for now, the custom settings are based on lead-acid batteries. Any of the lithium choices (Simpliphi, Blue Ion, etc.) have different parameters used on the back end to better estimate SOC."
