OpticsRE vs. Mate 3 integral web page

Post by grelckrw » Mon Aug 17, 2015 11:01 am

The most recent firmware update deleted the integral Mate3 Web Page in favor of using ONLY the OpticsRE web site. There was a period when both views were available.
For those of us off at grid locations where an internet connection can be problematic, this causes a loss of all remote monitoring capability. If both options were supported, again, we could obtain status information using the integral web page as long as the LAN was up even if the link to the internet was down.

I agree, sad that it disappeared.
Gave a way to double check system.

On the bottom of your Mate3 monitoring webpage click on "Contact Support | Product Updates | Mate3"

I consider the post a hoax. There hasn't been any apparent upgrade and I doubt OB would discontinue their most basic feature of the Mate3. It would be almost useless without it, and it is the biggest reason most people ever purchased it in the first place.

OpticsRE has not been 100% reliable and it is cloud based. Most people like to not depend on clod services that can hold you ransom by charging monthly fees at the drop of a hat.
