Planned OPTICS RE Maintenance - August 3, 08:00 PT

Post by Bryce Millet » Wed Jul 29, 2020 1:31 pm

Maintenance Notification

We will be performing updates on our servers Monday August 3rd at 8:00 AM PT (15:00 UTC). This is a regular maintenance that requires taking various services offline for one to three hours. Loss of connectivity will occur for part of the update, but should be minimal. Thank you in advance for your patience while we make improvements to OPTICS RE!

4.5.2 Update List
New Features
  • SkyBox: Made additions to battery types supported through OpticsRE for future SkyBox updates.
Improvements
  • General: Improvements to expand automated testing capabilities of the platform.
Bug Fixes
  • My Profiles: Improved performance when a large amount of Systems are loaded at once. One Profile is now limited to only 300 Systems total.
  • My Profiles: When searching for a Profile or Site, the search result now includes empty Sites and Profiles that contain no Systems.
  • (AXS Port, Mate3 family) Historical Graphs: Fixed an algorithmic issue with the Load kWh that would cause some systems to accumulate negative load that ended up overwriting valid values for graph durations of A Month, One Year, or 5 Years. Load data after 2020/07/01 should appear normally when viewing these longer graph durations.

Hey Bryce - I hope you or someone will give us Skybox users info on the new battery types. Right now I'm using a "custom" configuration because when I installed my Skybox there wasn't a specific type in the menu dropdown for Simpliphi 3.8's.

Thanks.

Hi Mike,

In SkyBox 1.4.15 you can and should make that change now. SimpliPhi is available as a pull-down in OPTICS RE already, for SkyBoxes in the latest firmware.

My memory is failing... I actually do have the battery set up as Simpliphi 14, which I think gave charge parameters closest to my 3.8 requirements. The other option is Simpliphi 21 - why the odd nomenclature? 14? 21?

Good! It might not be odd nomenclature if you buy the batteries from OutBack Power. We sell them four or six at a time (in an IBR2 or IBR3). So that's 14kWh, 21kWh, 15kWh, or 22kWh.

Ah, that helps - looks like I need another battery to reach 14kwh. Skybox needs an "11" charging profile for 3×3.8kwh.

Especially considering 3 Simpliphi 3.8's is the optimum capacity for Skybox. Outback's Simpliphi app note says : "SimpliPhi states in their warranty that a C/2 charge/discharge rate should not be exceeded, with a recommendation that the battery bank be greater than twice the kW load. 11.4 (3×3.8) kwh is roughly twice Skybox's 5kw limit.
