Planned OPTICS RE Maintenance - October 3rd, 08:00 PDT

Maintenance Notification

We will be performing updates on our servers tomorrow, Wednesday 10/03 at 8:00 AM PDT (15:00 UTC). This is a regular maintenance that requires taking various services offline for one to two hours. Loss of connectivity will occur for part of the update, but should be minimal. Thank you in advance for your patience while we make improvements to OPTICS RE!

4.0.1 Update List:

Improvements
Dashboard Settings: The selections for both Y-Axis graphs have been made persistent by saving data to local storage. You'll no longer need to change Y-axis values every time the graph page is loaded, provided you continue using the same device to access OpticsRE. Settings are unique for each profile, site, or system dashboard you visit.
Weather Banner: The weather banner now refreshes without changing pages every 15 minutes. Weather data update intervals for your area depend on the nearest weather station used by the OpenWeatherMap API.

Bug Fixes
Legacy Graphing: Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the first load kWh value in a day to be higher than expected.
All Profiles: Fixed an issue where the number of profiles displayed did not match the pagination drop-down.
Profile Welcome Screen: Fixed a broken link to the OutBack website when a user has no systems registered.
SkyBox Graphing: Fixed an issue with the five year generator graph.
SkyBox Power Flow: Fixed an issue that prevented generator icon status from rendering correctly.

Maintenance is complete, and I will restore access to the website in about 5 to 15 minutes.

The device endpoint was offline for about an hour, and there may be some data missing.

There is a delay in graphing data as we are still processing a large amount of updates from the replay system. It should take a few hours to catch up to real time data.

We have temporarily disabled processing of replay data until a more robust fix can be put and place that will prevent these issues in the future. Files are still being uploaded and stored on our servers, and will be processed when a more robust system is in place.

Just for the record. This is why my Radians are advertised for sale, to be replaced with Schneider units.

What is it with software "engineers" that makes it absolutely impossible for them to make a change without messing something else up?
Thanks!

Since the update about Wednesday, I have a problem where a solar spike appears on the chart at midnight each night. The spike is not real and appears to be the sum of the total power collected on the previous day and it gets added to the accumulated solar power on the following day.

Thank you for the reports.

We have identified that there are some issues with the MX-60 not behaving as expected with one of the updates that were made to address,
• Legacy Graphing: Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the first load kWh value in a day to be higher than expected.
.

The change has been reverted until improvements can be made more robust to handle unexpected data changes from devices like the MX-60. There have also been load issues with some combinations of hardware that were likely caused by this issue.

I apologize for our oversight on this issue. We have a large combination of devices and firmware, and it is often difficult to get 100% test coverage with every possible combination.
