Planned OPTICS RE Maintenance - Thursday November 7, 08:00

Post by Bryce Millet » Tue Nov 05, 2019 10:54 am

Maintenance Notification

We will be performing updates on our servers Thursday November 7th at 8:00 AM PST (16:00 UTC). This is a regular maintenance that requires taking various services offline for one to three hours. Loss of connectivity will occur for part of the update, but should be minimal. Thank you in advance for your patience while we make improvements to OPTICS RE!

4.3.2 Update List

New Features
  • Charge Controllers: AXS Port and the Mate family now display Absorb Time and Float Time reported from the charge controller, if the data is available. This information is displayed in the dashboard when interacting with the charge controller icon, and in the Device Map under the status section when the charge controller is selected.
Improvements
  • SkyBox Device Map: The SkyBox device status on the device map now displays a more robust description in line with the SkyBox UI. Instead of On/Off it has been upgraded to also include "Shutdown with faults", "Partial Operation with Faults", and "Unknown" if the unit is offline.
  • Mate3s device map: Added a new cautionary warning to the HBX tab regarding checking manufacturer documentation for recommended settings.
  • Password Validation: We have released updated requirements across the site when picking a password to increase password strength. Minimum password length is 8 characters. Maximum password length has been extended to 128 characters.
  • Dashboard: The label, "Current System Status" in the top right corner has been changed to "Current System Time" when the gateway device is online and communicating with the server. The label change has no impact on functionality.
  • General: Our technical support number in event notification emails has been updated.
Bug Fixes
  • SkyBox Device Map: : Fixed an issue that was causing the default value always to be displayed for the Grid Charge Limit instead of the real value.
  • Event History: Fixed an issue where an unrecognized event code was sometimes added to the event history.
  • Account Registration: The error message when an email address has already been registered has been clarified to, "That email is already in use".
  • Device Registration: Fixed an issue that caused the application to hang when entering certain characters into the device registration form.
  • Sign-in: Fixed an issue that was causing an error to be logged when checking the "Remember me" box on the sign-in screen.
  • General: Fixed an issue with the Google maps API where a deprecated tag was removed from the API call.

Hey Bryce - Will we all have to create new passwords if our current ones aren't long enough?

Thanks.

No. This only applies if you change your password or create a new account.

I do advise that you update your password anyway to ensure that its secure. The longer it is the better.

I agree. But today my system entered float mode around noon and stopped around 6pm, yet the display says 3 hrs.

I would also suggest using H:M to shorten the text , or just omit it.

Some database tuning this weekend or a large influx of uploaded replay data may have caused graphing delays. It looks like it has cleared up, but there may be a few more small interruptions before the weekend is over.

Hi, The data seems to be stuck on the website since 7am. Not sure what to do. It's essential to be able to see our system, it's 6 hours away operation on a 24/7 job site. Any idea on whats going on?
Thanks

I don't see anything that was backed up in our queues at that time. It looks like your system may not have been sending updated kWh information.

If you see the state of charge or voltage updating, but the rest of the kWh data is not, please try remotely rebooting the system with the following steps:

1. From your Dashboard navigate to the Device Map
2. Select the Mate3s
3. Select the Connectivity tab
4. Select the "Reset Gateway" button.
5. Confirm you would like to reboot the device by pressing "OK".
