Planned OPTICS RE Maintenance - February 8, 08:00 PST

Maintenance Notification

We will be performing updates on our servers, Friday 02/08 at 8:00 AM PST (16:00 UTC). This is a regular maintenance that requires taking various services offline for one to two hours. Loss of connectivity will occur for part of the update, but should be minimal. Thank you in advance for your patience while we make improvements to OPTICS RE!

4.1.1 Update List

New Features
Graphing: Added a lock next to the left axis (kWh/Ah). When open the maximum value will scale dynamically on each graph. When closed the graph scales to highest value in all graphs for the currently selected duration.
Date Format: Added a new date selection feature to the Account Settings page. You can choose from YYYY/MM/DD, MM/DD/YYYY, and DD/MM/YYYY variations. This change is account wide.
Time Format: Time format has been moved to the Account Settings page, and is now account wide instead of site specific.

Improvements
Graphing: Inverter and FNDC data has been adjusted so that it cannot be graphed at the same time on the Summary tab.

Bug Fixes
Dashboard: Fixed an alignment issue with graph controls when using different zoom settings
Device Map: Fixed an issue where Mate3 AC Input attributes did not much the granularity, default values and range allowed on individual inverter AC Input tabs.
Device Map: Fixed a value scaling issue for AGS Start kW and AGS Stop kW. This would sometimes cause a false positive value change event to appear in the Event History when updating firmware.
SkyBox Notification Emails: Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause a subscribed notification to be sent with no descriptive text.

I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature based on one of the new release description (to not display FNDC and inverter data at the same time?) , but when I select to show INVERTER DATA the From Battery option disappears.

I just rebooted the Mate3 as it was not connecting this AM. I just learned there was a maintenance update, no problem, except: To and From Battery is gone in the Summary graph of OpticsRE. The battery graph comes up if I click on the Battery button, however. But its gone from the Summary graph.

Best,
Jim

BTW, The generator autostarted around 10:30pm last night. The run should've terminated after the 2.5 hr absorb around 2-2:30am this morning. The genset was still running this AM. This has not happened before and I mention in case there is a connection with the maintenance period.

The battery information was removed from the summary tab according to this note: " Inverter and FNDC data has been adjusted so that it cannot be graphed at the same time on the Summary tab." You should see it again if you hide the inverter data on the summary tab.

The maintenance this morning started at 7:50 A.M. PST.

My battery data still shows on the summary page. Is a Mate reboot required for the update to take effect?

I like the battery data on the summary page as it is an important bit of data at a glance. I'm not sure why this change had to to implemented... unless it invites the obvious: solar to controller, controller to battery, battery to inverter, inverter to use; then wire, connections, etc. All the info on the summary page dials in on efficiency of the system to the degree the shunts give the needed resolution. It is what it is. I'm not sure anyone does it better than Outback - from sunlight/gen to point of use.

Not sure i see the benefit of this split data summary. Maybe a bene for the grid tied folks? I like the old consolidated page better and just toggle the feeds. Now I can’t see battery/load data side by side, major bene of old way.

Was the summary screen change an attempt to make the data less confusing, or to minimize the appearance of disparity between the different measures?

BTW - The Lock icon on my summary screen shows up as a broken image (small rectangle with an "X" in it.) Am I somehow missing a resource in my Chrome browser on my Android phone?

You may need to do a forced refresh of the page or clear your cache to get the lock icon to show up. This can usually be done by pressing Ctrl + Shift + R, but a quick search should get you the information for your preferred browser.
