Planned OPTICS RE Maintenance - Monday November 6th, 08:00

Postby Bryce Millet on Fri Nov 03, 2017 11:56 am

Maintenance Notification

We will be performing updates on our servers this Monday, 11/06 at 8:00 AM PST (16:00 UTC). This is an extended maintenance that requires taking various services offline for two to four hours. Loss of connectivity will occur for part of the update. Thank you in advance for your patience while we make improvements to OPTICS RE!

Update List:

Improvements
Reports: Added the ability to download Event History information in an Office Open XML (.xlsx) format. This is accessible under the System Tools -> Reports menu.
Event History: The search box can now filter on message type.
Navigation: A link to our OpticsRE Knowledge Base has been added to the sidebar.
Knowledge Base: New articles have been added to the OpticsRE Knowledge Base. These articles cover a couple of common features and we have plans to add more in the future.
Website:New Mobile specific icons have been added to the website for Android and iPhone devices. No longer will your bookmarked icons be pixelated from unnecessary resizing.
Profile & Dashboard:: Added hover tips to the System Tools icon.

Bug Fixes
Dashboard Graph: Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause erroneous spikes in historical kWh readings.
Dashboard Graph: Fixed an issue that would prevent kWh information from displaying properly in the 1 Month, 1 Year, and 5 Year views.
Dashboard Graph: Fixed an issue that would cause the battery state of charge to incorrectly report 0% over a long period of time.
Dashboard Graph: Fixed an issue that would cause graph tool-tips to remain open with no way to close them.
Dashboard Graph: The Graph area will no longer move position when changing to different tabs.
Dashboard: Fixed an issue that would cause an unknown server error when viewing some systems.
Event Notification: Made improvements to email delivery queuing for subscribed events. This should address rare situations where not all emails were being sent to event subscribers.
Event History: Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause unnecessary debug information to log to the event history.
Event History: Fixed an issue that prevented the Event History table from resizing properly.
Device Registration: The legend icon for "Update Required" is now hidden by default, and only shown if a device is unsupported because of the running firmware version.
General: Corrected various spelling errors.

We now seem to have large (spurious) values at midnight (0 hour) on the reporting. Any ideas why, and can you fix it?
Thanks.

@wildmercury: Looking at it.

Could you add your Optics site name to your forum profile so that we can look more closely?

I have not been able to see my system live via OpticsRe since the maintenance shut down on Monday, Nov 6. How can I get it to display my system again?

Seeing crazy numbers since maintenance. Something got screwed up.

8:30am, showed 50.5kWh of solar produced. Ended up at 89.5kWh for the day, reported. Actual numbers were 41.3kWh per the Mate.
Same issue the last 3 days.

Thanks
Brett

That *special* "Midnight Spike" is a known issue. We put a patch in yesterday which should cure the issue. I'd be interested in hearing what it looks like this morning or tomorrow (depending upon your time-zone compared to ours).

All back to normal as of midnight. I'm US Eastern time, and no spike.
Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, Brett.

We've also seen some squirrely spikes due to mismatches in the Mate3 time/time zone/daylight saving time settings compared to Optics. If you're seeing this kind of strangeness, please double-check your settings in this regard.

Remind me in the spring not to schedule an Optics release on the Monday after daylight saving time change... #-o
