Battery Question from a newbie

Post by dnorrick » Thu Jan 07, 2016 6:16 pm

I just got my new FP1 hooked up and ready to start programming and I am confused about the battery capacity, I am using 6 Trojan J185h-ac 12v battries with a 20 hr rate of 225 amp hours, these are wired in series-parallel for a 24v system. I need to know the total amp hours for this battery bank. I just want to make sure it's correct.

Hi dnorrick, Welcome to the Forum,

SO, six 12 V batteries in series/parallel for a 24 V system, means that you have three parallel strings of 225 AH batteries (based on the info you provided), so the three parallel strings, means that your Capacity is three times 225 AH, yielding about 675 AH total.

Have Fun, Vic
