Manually upgrade a FlexPower One to Two

A place where users can meetup with other FlexPower One users and can find support for one another. A great place for people who have not purchased the FlexPower One yet to look up information.

Manually upgrade a FlexPower One to Two

Post by withoutatrace » Tue Nov 12, 2013 8:07 am

I have a FlexPower One (model FP1-4) with the GVFX3648 and I'm wanting to purchase another FM80/GVFX3648 combination and manually upgrade it to a FlexPower Two. This is possible, right? How difficult is it? Thanks.

Current Equipment:
FlexPower One (GVFX3648, FM80, PowerMate3, FlexNet DC Monitor, Hub10)
28x CSP6-6 245W Panels (only 8 hooked up so far...in progress)
8x 6V AGM Golf Cart Batteries (soon to hook up 2 or 3 more sets in parallel)

I see no one touched your question so I will try. Possible? Yes - Easy? not really. Things to consider: 2 - FW250 to connect on each end of the new inverter to house all the necessary breakers, etc. 1 - FW-IOB-S-120VAC kit for the AC breakers/bypass. You will also want the DC breakers for the charge controller and Battery disconnect breaker for the DC side. Remember to connect both inverters to the same battery bank using bus bars if necessary.
