Automatic Equalize at specific time of day.

A place where users can meetup with other FlexPower One users and can find support for one another. A great place for people who have not purchased the FlexPower One yet to look up information.

Automatic Equalize at specific time of day.

I have a FP1 VFXR3524A-01 system. It will allow me to automatically equalize every so many days but is there a way I can force it to equalize during a specific time of day?

If not is there a workaround for this ?

Thanks

A manual EQ cycle can be initiated from the Mate, or via OpticsRE. The Mate screen is on the Charger hard button. OpticsRE charge control is on the Gear icon's page.

I am aware of the manual...

I want automatic interval at a specific time of day.

Are you looking to EQ via PV or Generator?

The only parameter is the number of days between EQs. I would try setting the Auto EQ interval at the time you want it to happen and then observe what happens over time. Time selected should be after the batteries have completed a full absorb cycle, with enough time remaining to do the EQ in the solar day. Of course, if there is little PV that day, you may not get an EQ cycle.

I would also recommend that if it is connected to the internet to enable internet time update on the Mate3 as the clock can drift. I just observed that this setting can not be updated with OpticsRE. However, my observation of systems connected to OpticsRE that do not have internet update enabled on the Mate3/3s, is that FLEXtime changes occur at the programmed time with no drift.

You want to EQ from solar at a specific time of day. But, to me, the time shouldn't matter. The reason being is there has to be enough solar generation to keep the charging voltage in the EQ range. So if you have completed a solar charge cycle and are then in the EQ, if other loads come on or a bunch of clouds come through and your battery voltage drops below the EQ voltage then EQ cycle will stop. It will start over when the EQ voltage can be sustained once again.

I don't see why a specific time should come into play - but we all do things differently....

BTW, EQ itself is another way we all do things differently. Maybe you want to do scheduled EQs because you don't want to be bothered with the chore of taking specific gravity readings from each cell in each battery to know whether you have to EQ in the 1st place? I have learned over the years that if my flooded batteries are in good shape and I have a good absorb time (4 to 5 hours), I rarely needed to do an EQ because the specific gravity of the cells stayed within range.
