Change AXS port IP

Post by whatsupkramer » Wed Jul 09, 2014 3:54 pm

Good morning.

I have multiple AXS ports on the same network and I need to change the IP address to avoid conflicts.

Before becoming a forum member I have searched everywhere for documentation on how to do this, however have had no luck.

I have been able to connect to the default IP address with modbus poll and read the registers for the IP address, subnet and gateway. However these values do not match the default parameters in the manual.

Can someone please help me with information on changing the IP address?

Thanks

Chris

This is assuming that you have firmware 3.7.0 loaded on your AXS port.
The IP stuff is located at registers 40090-40100
40090: 0 = DHCP Disabled, 1 = DHCP Enabled
I noticed that performing a hardware reset on an AXS port will reset the IP address in the registers to 192.168.0.64 as advertized but I also discovered that a hardware reset enables DHCP so one has to search for the AXS port on the LAN and disable the DCHP in order to use the static IP.

40091-40092: 32-bit TCP/IP address
40093-40094: 32-bit TCP/IP Gateway
40095-40096: 32-bit TCP/IP Subnet mask
40097-40098: 32-bit TCP/IP DNS 1
40099-40100: 32-bit TCP/IP DNS 2

If you need a Modbus TCP client, here is a link to a free app.

In SimplyModbus, you have to enter registers in 16-bit or 32-bit decimal so an HEX/DEC calculator will come in handy.
Uncheck 'USE DEFAULTS' and set the minus offset to '0'
