AC input mode

Post by capt242 » Wed Mar 25, 2020 8:44 pm

I was watching the webinar on ac input mode and wanted to know if my system can be updated to see the different modes. I have a flex power one 3648 and I just updated the firmware to 3.19.1. But when I go to the inverter page, ac type only shows grid and gen. Is there something I can do?

Here's where you want to be in the Mate3s menu:

Or you might want the next line down for Gen....

(See page 11 of the Mate3s Programming Guide.)

Grid tie
Support
Generator
Back up
UPS
Grid zero
Mini grid

What exact model of inverter is in the FP1 system? 3648 refers to the power output/battery voltage.

For example my old inverter is an FX3048T and only supports Grid Tie mode.

I have a Radian, not your model inverter. But in the Mate 3 and 3S, there is a user password and an INSTALLER password. Some of the menus are only available by entering with the installer password, not the user password, maybe this will help.

Capt242,
As raysun said, the legacy FX3648 inverter the other grid input modes. They are only included in the FXR and Radian families.

IIRC, it has grid tie and selling capabilities, but the fancier modes came in later models.

I’m wondering if there’s a past firmware update I over looked

I'd imagine the updates are cumulative. If you have the latest, you have all the features.

The FX, VFX, GVFX series are older models that do not have the AC MODE functions that came later in the FXR and RADIAN inverters.

I imagine the video you watched was demonstrating the features of those current FXR and RADIAN models, rather than the discontinued FX, VFX, GVFX series.

Very different board level hardware is the difference, before any software...
