Connect to Mate 3

Postby jeffminsc on Fri May 19, 2017 8:58 am

I have my system connected to Optics RE but can not for the life of me figure out how to connect directly to the mate 3. What am I missing. or can I not do that?

In OpticsRE dashboard click on "Device map" then click on "Gateway device Mate3" at the right side of the screen above your other numbered device icons.

Hope this helps.

Guess I was not clear in my description. I would like to hook up to my system with out going through Optic Re. I thought there was a way to have a network without going through the internet. Thanks for the reply.

Enter your MATE3 local IP address while on your local network and you should see a web page.

Here's your detailed procedure:
1. Connect your power cable and ethernet cable to the back of MATE3 (they are both Cat5 cables)
2. Navigate to Ethernet address screen. Lock>141>Settings>System>Ethernet Addresses
3. Ensure DHCP is set as Enabled
5. Press UP button once.
6. Power cycle MATE3 (unplug and replug power cable)
7. Wait for about 60 seconds, then press PORT button. On the very top you will see an IP address.
8. Enter that IP address in your browser. Do not enter the zeros in front of the number. Ex. 192.168.001.064 should be entered as 192.168.1.64. Press Enter on your PC keyboard
9. Now you should have the Outback web page getting populated on your screen. Remember that this is a monitor only page. No control function. (We wish!)

Thanks for posting these instructions.
I didn't power cycle and wait the 60 seconds after enabling the DHCP.

I'm going to try that now. Keeping my fingers crossed...

No difference.

Port button still doesn't do anything at the main screen.

Also, the port light still fades off as if it is losing power. I wanted this to work so badly...

Everything else is perfect, I hate having to send the unit back.

Time to call Tech Support for RMA. That is hardware problem on your MATE3.
