Welcome to the user group for WinVerter(tm)-Monitor, PC software for monitoring OutBack equipment via the Mate.

Although this is a new forum group (as of Jan 2008), WinVerter-Monitor has been around since 2003, not long after the first FX inverters hit the market.

In this forum group you can...
    * Learn about the WinVerter software (details are found on our web site, http://www.righthandeng.com)
    * Ask questions about WinVerter
    * Request new features
    * Report bugs
    * Find out what new development is in the works
    * Request to be a beta tester
    * Dialog with other users

Like the other companies offering software products discussed in OutBack Communications forum, RightHand Engineering is an independent company, offering third-party software that we hope will enhance the usability of your OutBack system.

We are a family operated, cottage business trying to further the cause of renewable energy by producing tools that help RE become more main-stream. We like to give prompt, personal attention to inquiries, BUT being a cottage business, there are times when our staff (wife and older children) are unavailable. During those times we thank you in advance for being patient while you wait for our replies.

Hello,

I've tried to download a sample of this software beacause I would like to be up to date on outback monitoring software possiblites. When I access the website, I rectieve the code and it will not install for some reason. I contacted info@righthandengineering and they replied with a link. This link reads an error when i click on it. Anybody have similar problems and or solutions?

Thanks.

I have use the winverter software on a outback inverter 3524. Works well but some parts I do not understand. The Cycles the inverter goes through include a Charge mode, Pass Thru, Support, and Sell. I believe I understand all of the cycles except support?? Also on the event history from about 7pm till 12am it says that it is "perserving Data"? Not sure I know why it goes through this cycle. Any help would be appreciated.

Greets,

Randy doesn't read this forum that much. I'd suggest you contact him directly. He's pretty good about answering e-mails.

Hello,
I can't say that I fully understand the meaning of the various states of the inverter myself - WinVerter merely reports the states given to it by the Mate. I think the OutBack staff can shed the best light on this. But as I understand it, "Support" means that the inverter supplements the grid when powering the load. For a more definate answer, you might try posting this to the Mate or Inverter forum.

The "preserving data" appearing in the event history indicates that WinVerter is saving its settings each hour (usefull in case the PC gets cycled off/on for any reason). You can go to the Options, Log Storage menu and disable the logging of data preservation events if you don't wish to see those listed in your Event History.

Regards,
Randy

Supporting is like Selling, only there is not enough to overcome the Load.

Pass Thru -- Inverter is off, pass-thru relay is closed.
Support -- Inverter is on, power is being imported or load zeroed.
Sell -- Inverter is on, power is being exported.
