DC Breaker and Shunt Connections and Torque

Post by bluetinc » Thu Sep 28, 2006 9:06 am

Hey all,

I've searched but I have not been able to find the following information (maybe I just missed it?). Any chance you have the following information?:

The max number of connections for the 500A Shunt and the large DC breakers (175A and 250A).

The correct torque for the posts on the DC Breakers (large and small) and on the 500A Shunt bolts.

Thanks,

Peter

I received a answer from Steve Higgins that I wanted to post here to close this out and leave the answer for anyone else,

Peter

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Peter the Torque setting for the shut should be 15 Foot pounds.
OBDC-100 and Lower 2.4 to 2.8 Foot Pounds.
OBDC-175 and OBDC-250 18.33 to 19.00 Foot Pounds.

There are only two positions available on the Shunt, you need to use
the breaker buss to accommodate those extra connections.
