Strange issue with FLEXnet DC

Postby jcheil on Mon Mar 31, 2014 6:03 am

So I have had all my new outback stuff installed for about 2 weeks now.
Yesterday I woke up and my mate 3 display was blank (off-no power).
Strange since it had been working fine for 2 weeks and was ok when I went to sleep.

After doing a bunch of troubleshooting, I figured out that if i disconnected the CAT5 cable from the "FLEXNET-DC" it came back on and everything was fine. Furthermore, if I put the cat5 cable back into the FLEXNET, the moment I click in the cable, the FM80 resets itself.

Obviously there is something seriously wrong with it. It scares me to think that a bad flexnet could effect the FM80 in some way.

Has anyone seen this before? Thoughts?

Thanks

I had a similar issue a FlexNet DC went bad so i replaced it with a new one. Three days later the same issue as before the Mate3 is blank and as soon as i disconnect the FN DC it comes back on and as soon as i connect the FNDC to the HUB 10 the Mate3 Turns off.
Could it be that the Damaged the FlexNet damaged both the Mate3 and the HUB10? How can i troubleshoot this issue?

Similar experience awhile back. Long tech call couldn't fix. Outback replaced the Mate3 first. I was adamant that I would only hook it up with them on the phone. No way I wanted to be responsible for blowing the replacement on my own. Once Mate3 was back running so we could check some other items, Tech had me do somethings to the FNDC, determined it likely was bad. Replaced that and been fine since.

"Some things" you say? Any chance that you might remember what exactly they had you do to it? I have not been able to get a reply from tech support on this issue.

Other than verifying the input voltage, no. This was done over the phone.
