Absorb Voltage too high?

Postby Olaf on Thu Sep 13, 2018 11:28 am

Hi all.

Per the battery manufacturer's specs, my Absorb voltage is set to 58.8V in the CC, and 58.0 in the FX.
System is reporting a constant 59.8V from the batteries for the whole absorb duration ... :-k Something reporting wrong?
Shunt numbers seem a little random too. Please see attached.

Thanks for any feedback and thoughts you might have.

Are you using the battery temp sensor (RTS)? What is the battery bank temperature?

yes, using the temp sensor.
Battery temp is 18C / 64 F.

Thanks!

Temp compensation is .12V per degree C for a 48V system. If you are 7 degrees below 25°C then you can expect ~.84 of a volt of increase to the Absorb/Float charge targets. I'd say the 59.8V readout is within range of what the system is supposed to do with a cold battery bank.

Thanks,
