FX2024M Transfer switch troubles

Post by projectboats » Mon Nov 04, 2019 2:55 pm

I have an FX2024M that was working fine for ten years...then...last week apparently the isolation transformer shorted out. I bypassed it but now the Outback transfer switch tries but refuses to lock on. Oddly, it works fine when I run the generator? (same AC input circuit to inverter) Shorepower voltage is 115 vac. low volt cutout set at 98 vac.
any suggestions much appreciated!

thx
Duncan

Without the isolation transformer, how are you managing the neutral-ground bond issue?

My guess is you already have a N-G bond somewhere on the boat. When you plug into shore power there will be another bond since the isolation transformer is no longer providing isolation.

You can only have one N-G bond in a system at a time.
