80a GFDI tripping w/ 600w array

Post by Smclark59 » Wed Nov 15, 2017 9:09 am

I have a Flexpower One with a VFXR 3524A Inverter/Charger and two PV arrays 2x300 and 2x280 in parallel. A week ago my 80a GFDI tripped on a sunny day. Today with one array online the GFDI trips immediately. Power coming was 26a. What is wrong?

A GFDI may trip for two reasons. Exceeding the 80A OCP limit or exceeding the .5A ground fault current limit.
It doesn't seem as you are over producing or exceeding the 80A OCP limit so you may want to focus on a ground fault. One way to find out when solar generation is at max, measure your DC Voltage between your negative to ground any potential could be a problem.
