FX2024 no/low AC output

Post by MCR » Tue May 09, 2017 12:01 pm

Hi, we have an off-grid system that just quit. FX2024 120v with 4 L16 batts, with solar and genset charging(and pass-thru). Lost AC power- the green LED's for the battery & inverter are ON. Battery is full and in good shape. I am reading 36 volts AC out. Have gone thru all resets/cycling suggested in troubleshooting of manual with no change. Generator AC will pass-thru fully, but inverter will not go into charge mode while genset running.
Any help appreciated- may need servicing? This unit has worked flawlessly. Unit mfg 2nd qtr of 2004.
THX!

Hello,
Unfortunately, service and repair is your only option at this point.
If inverter output is 36V ac, and inverter is not charging, you will need a new FET board, since the inverter is from 2004 I will also recommend a control board.

Thanks Sandra, Do I now proceed by calling you folks and send the unit in, or just order the parts and replace? Costs involved? Randy E.

Randy,
You can contact Outback tech support for an out of warranty repair and return, or any Outback distributor can sell your repair parts
