My RE system: 24 x 175 W Shell Solar (SolarWorld) panels (4200 Watts total) divided into two arrays each configured as 6 parallel strings of two panels. Two MX-60's and two VFX3648 inverters charging a 48VDC Hup Solar-One battery bank. 15 kW diesel back-up generator.

X-240 Help

I have a 120 VAC single inverter system and a 240 volt generator. I know I can use the X-240 to balance the generator, but is there a way to also have 240 available for loads like a compressor that will only operate with the generator running?

One way you could accomplish this so you only need one x-240 would be to wire up the system as follows.

Generator > 240 Load Panel (Compressor) > x-240 > AC input of inverter > AC output to 120 Load panel.

I hope this helps.

Yup, I have my 240v well pump wired up as dhamilton described above. If you can live with the 240v loads only running when generator is running, then this is the way to wire it up.
