Hi bows..

Well, as you know, the EU series gensets have a number of members, only a few have Electric Start. The two most common ones with Eleictric start are the EU3000is and EU6500is. There are a couple additional models around the 6K range with ES.

The largest Honda EUs have Auto-Choke, which is important for Auto-Starting them.

There is a, or perhaps are several companies that put LPG kits on the EU3000, which is ES but has NO Auto-Choke. The LPG conversion should elinimate the need for any choke. It is possible that in your climate, that cold weather might rule out LPG(?).

I had wondered about using a small LPG tank, regulator, and solenoid valve to be used to only provide Start Enrichment, and would switch off the LPG when the AC output was approaching nominal V. This was just a thought ... have not yet used AGS in 7.5 years, so this "solution" is moot here just now. And, do have a EU6500, which does have Auto Choke.

FWIW, Vic

I have used a propane conversion from US Carburations successfully, and they do have an auto choke kit. The EU6500 has a remote start kit installed, but it needs to be able to start from a 2 wire line, not a key fob.

A quick google on "auto start honda eu2000" shows a few solutions. Which Honda do you want to autostart? --vtMaps

I am hoping to get a Honda EM5000s. Since this thread started, I think Honda has increased their auto-start capabilities as now many models have this option along with auto-choke. The issue I guess is how to wire them up, Honda is 3-wire start and Outback relays are 2-wire. Any updates would be appreciated - I've search these forums, but haven't found the magic recipe yet.

Have you read the Advanced Generator Start (AGS) app note on this page? http://www.outbackpower.com/resources/d ... /app-notes

It is under the Inverter / Charger section.
