What generators do you recommend for a/c pass through.

Is 60 hz control very important and harmonic distortion on the wave as well? I have a belt driven generator head 6% harmonic and having problems with battery charging. I had to use a old prosine inverter 2% harmonic from a 12 volt battery and two battery charges running from the gen set to get the outback to charge the battery's 24 volt . I put 300 watts of resistive load on the genset each phase to get the exciter to regulate the voltage (117) and frequency 59 -60.5. should I go back to a Honda generator?

I will go back to my 24 dc volt belt driven alternator if needed. I use a 6 hp diesel it worked well. 1/2 liter of fuel per hour
