Grid tie gvfx3524 & fx2824 during power outage

Postby jnahanna1 on Mon Oct 15, 2012 9:25 am

I have a grid tied system for the last 3 years and love it with a single gvfx3524. I would like to be able to stack for 240V only during backup power outages (Normally the fx2824 would be turned off during grid times). I picked up a used fx2824 which works great however I can't seem to get it to stack to give me 240VAC to run the well with it doesn't want to sync with the master during off grid times.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks, Jim

I don't think you can stack a "G" inverter with a non G inverter. Try a forum search as I believe this question has been asked before.

mtdoc is correct, you cannot mix "G" model inverters with non "G" models. Also we do not make a FX2824. The 2800 watt inverter is vented and works with a 12 volt battery bank (VFX2812). If it is a 24 volt inverter the output is either 2500 watts or 3500 watts (FX2524T or VFX3524, respectively).

If it is a 24 volt inverter we can convert the Off Grid inverter to a grid tied model. You will have to send it in to us for this update. Please call 360.618.4363 to arrange for the conversion if you want to go that route.
