Inverter Parameters Report

Postby clopezpe on Mon Sep 10, 2018 6:24 pm

Hi! My utility (PREPA) is asking for a report with the adjusted parameters of my inverters (2 VFXR3648A). Is there any way I can create that report from Optics RE or with MATE 3? A letter stating that the inverter complies with PREPA's requirements would also do the trick. The requirements are shown on the attachment. Thanks in advance.

We recently released updated firmware and a GIP file for Puerto Rico. You can find it on the firmware update page for the FXR http://outbackpower.com/resources/technical-support/firmware-updates/item/fxr-vfxr-series-firmware-updates (A Radian version is also available http://outbackpower.com/resources-mobile/technical-support/firmware-updates/item/radian-series-firmware-updates)

The firmware is different between the 24-VDC and 48-VDC inverters. (12-VDC inverters are not grid interactive)

The downloadable ZIP files each contain 5 files
• FXR2524A and VFXR3524A 001 006 067 Read Me.txt or FXR3048A and VFXR3648A 001 006 067 Read Me.txt
o This is the set of update notes for the firmware that explain differences between this and previous firmware versions
o Information only – this file doesn’t need to be on the SD card used to update the system

• 1.6.67 PREPA GIP settings_FXRA.xlsx
o This is the spreadsheet that shows the grid support settings for the GIP files below
o Use this file to create your standard report for PREPA
o Column B in the second tab shows the IEEE 1547-2013 default values – which are overwritten when the PREPZ1R2.gip file is loaded
o Column C shows the values that will be in place once the PREPZ1R2.gip file is loaded – the idea behind our GIP files is that you get the same settings every time with little opportunity for error.

• 1_6_67_A.gip
o This gip file can be used to reset the inverter to its factory default grid support values (column B in the spreadsheet)

• FXR_24A.bin or FXR_48A.bin
o This is the actual firmware update file that needs to be loaded on the SD card
o You need to update the inverter to this firmware before loading the new GIP file

• PREPZ1R2.gip
o This is the updated gip file with the required settings (column C in the spreadsheet)
o This file can only be used with inverters that have the new 1.6.67 firmware installed
o Note that the MATE3s will need to running 001.003.001 or later firmware version to accept the new values
o This Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXAA8fGKk9odemonstrates how to load a GIP file

Thank Paul. I updated the MATE3 with 1.3.1 firmware, updated the inverters with 1.6.67 firmware (I have an FP2VFXR3648A), and updated the GIP to PREPZ1R2. Completing this process, I will be able to create the report for PREPA and their interconnection approval. \:D/

However, I wasn't able to see energy going to the grid and to the loads on the Power Flow on OPTICSRE. I was able to see the energy going to the grid, the energy from the grid, and the energy to the loads on the graph summary.

Also, I was getting the screen on the attached screenshot on the Device Map, indicating an update was required on the inverters. I tried updating the inverters again but the issue continued, so I went back to firmware 1.6.63 on the inverters.

Please advise on how to correct this and be able to go back to 1.6.67. Thanks!

Hi Carlos,

We've identified the 1.6.67 issue and are working on a patch. I'll let you know here once we have it deployed.

Greeting, I happened the same thing when I gave an upgrade to the inverter's firmware, I was forced to make a dowgrade to the previous firmware 1.6.63, I hope this is resolved soon.

jec0713,

David already reported that it is fixed. Have you tried 1.6.67 out again? If you are still having problems let us know.
