Undocumented FLEXmax AUX mode

Post by intellact » Wed Nov 25, 2015 8:22 am

I have a client whose monitoring software is failing because of 'invalid' MATE data. The problem is with the values sent for their charge controller AUX mode.
Page 13 of the MATE Serial Communication Guide (Rev 4.03) wrote:
"MX60 Aux mode: ÔÇÿ00ÔÇÖ to ÔÇÿ99ÔÇÖ This shows what Aux output mode is being run on the MX. Refer to MX manual for mode descriptions. FLEXmax 80 or FLEXmax 60 the lower 6 bits represent the programmed Aux mode. If bit 7 is set (data greater than 63) then Aux mode is active."
It also gives a table describing the Aux Mode values from 00 to 10.

The problem, as you can see from the captured data stream below, is that the FLEXmax (or MATE) is reporting an AUX Mode value of 27. We have no idea what this means.

Has anyone else encountered undocumented CC AUX modes?

Andrew,

Can you confirm mate firmware is 4.11?

Hi Sandra:

The client has the same problem on two different MATEs. Their boot up screens are as follows:

MA009216
Code 3.43
Screen EE 4.05 (c) 2004

and

MA 209890
Code 3.50
Screen EE 4.10 (c) 2005

I'm guessing that a MATE firmware update is required, and might actually fix the problem, yes? :-k

I think you mean 3.11, or I'm way way behind.
