Voltage too high?

Postby NMDA on Fri Sep 29, 2017 1:30 pm

New battery bank that hoping to get most out of,and having trouble with daily max voltage showing consistent 59+-V...Have absorb set @ 56.4V 3hrs and float @ 54V 6hrs..RTS on "limit" -set to top 55.6V-- with batts. in unheated basement around 68 degrees F. What adjustment might bring that Voltage down? and should I be concerned? Absolyte AGMs.
Thanks

IIRC, I've seen a post or 2 stating that the FM80 will occasionally generate a voltage spike over the system's operating settings. Can't find it right now but they indicated it's nothing to worry about.

If voltage rises to that point and stays there awhile (10 minutes?) then maybe there's a problem.

Mike..Thanks for responding..I've not seen the "max" daily voltage for an extended time, so hoping I'm not shortening battery life..Still troubling/confusing as to why adjusting down the RTS high allowed, doesn't seem to bring that down some. Dealer says CC's faulty and should be repaired/replaced..You think?
Thanks,

I found the post: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=9167

Personally I haven't observed what you're seeing with my FM80, but that may be because I seldom look at the daily max voltage data. Your call as to whether you should return for service. - Mike
