From the manual :

The output current limit of the FLEXmax 80 is 80 amps.

The largest PV array must have a rated short-circuit current of 64 amps or less under STC (Standard
Test Conditions).

At your battery voltage of 12 V, Outback recommends only using a 1000 W (at STC) panel array .

yep . my fm 80 hard copy manual is marked 900-0082-01-00REV A .
Watts is amps times volts . So say 15 volts times 80 amps = 1200 watts.
Maybe derated because it is hard to control to not go over the 80amps . However in the real world probably ok with 1250 watts.
Although i think my 24 volt system history on the fm80 shows a maximum of 2600 watts . So my 2200 watts of panel has for a time been over powering my fm80.
I Have set the max amps on my fm80 to 75 amps , to hopefully help keep it within max limits .
