Latest Software Revisions

Postby Offgrid on Wed Aug 16, 2006 10:37 am

Is there a place where I can find the latest software revision numbers for Outback products? I have 2 VFX 3524's, 2 MX60's and a Mate and I would like to know if I need a software/firmware update for my equipment.

Yes there are many of these still in the field. I am pretty sure that the boards inside the inverter have a firmware installed at the Outback service center and not able to be upgraded in the field.

I recently did a site assessment that had

2 - VFX3524
1 - FM 60 with 1.2kW of solar
Mate ver.1
A7500w aeries generator.

What I found was...

One VFX 3524 Port 1 had a board replacement FW 61, port2 has FW 56.
My understanding is that all inverters need to have the same firmware.

Both VFX 3524 inverter's cooling fans are controlled with their aux ports which leads to the next section.

The FM60 is not talking with the mate.
I'm going to replace the network cables and apply the dielectric grease.
However the FM60 is controlling the "AGS" with the LBCO programming logic, a delay timer and a cube relay.

What I would like to do is:

Upgrade the mate to a mate3s
But am worried about stacking the two VFX 3524 with the different firmware versions.
Install a psx-240 to let the Slave inverter sleep when there is no load on L2.

Move the AGS control over to the master inverter,
There currently is not an available Aux port

Install a battery vent fan controlled by the FM60

Has anyone worked a retrofit with similar obstacles?

This would best be answered by someone from OB, but FWIW, my equipment is similar to yours, and here are the latest firmware revision numbers, AFAIK (not field upgradeable, btw):

FX: 76.0.0
MX60: 5.11.0
Mate (before I replaced mine with a Mate3): 4.1.6

Hope this helps.

This is a pretty good place to start looking for what you have vs. what's available: http://outbackpower.com/resources/techn ... re-updates

I too liked all the info on the main screen and the radio button toggles on or off to suit my needs.

But what I also noticed is that the slopes of the V graph change when looking at SOC & V display vs. just V alone. The slopes should be the same regardless of whether or not the SOC is being displayed. This does not happen when just going from SOC & V to SOC.
