Strange event... Alerts Overflow

Post by mexsudo » Sat Oct 17, 2020 8:54 am

last evening I got a Alerts Overflow message...
for some strange reason my battery was being pounded.

the grid went down, then was restored 13 hours later... but then after dark this happened

Question: should I just ignore or should I be alarmed?

There's been an issue with spurious events (likely from other systems) showing up in the event log.

For example, my log is showing low battery SoC events. My new battery hasn't been below 70% SoC since installed.

The issue was to be addressed in the latest release, but it looks like there's still work to do.

so, it might be a reporting and graphing glitch by opticsre?
that actually makes more sense than the other possibilities I imagined.

I will just sit and wait it out.
If I had seen those alerts real time I would have had a look at my Mate and gone out to the shed and checked the gear... but it all happened after my bedtime.

Thanks. Peter

Unless Mexico has become the Land of the Midnight Sun recently, I'd guess the charge controller state change belongs to another site's data set.

I noticed my system show a small amount of PV generated about 10 PM the other day. Maybe moon light.
That could be why you see your charger acting like that for a bit at that time of night.

Did it happen to be exactly 0.21AH by any chance?

Yes, I get "You have grid down" and "Grid restored" events. Since I'm off grid, those don't belong to me. Others that are clearly impossible at my site show up as well.

Its spurious data. OB is working on a fix, it hasn't been implemented yet.

My PV output occurred between 8-9 PM my local time which is Pacific on that date, well after total sunset.
