Energy Dynamics - Anyone can explain?

Postby michaelASG on Tue Aug 08, 2017 2:54 pm

I wonder why the system works like this. I get 1.2 KW from the PV, while there is a 240W load, inverter is still grabbing 120W from the Grid.
System is set for Grid zero

WHY????

It looks like your battery is taking most of the PV. I can't speak to grid zero operation, but for my system if the battery's charge parameters aren't met it will ship PV to the battery until they are. Is your charge controller in bulk or absorb stage? That could explain it.

Was in Bulk. Absorb starts at 61.5V

Also keep in mind in Grid Zero mode you will always be buying about 1~ amp which is why it shows 120W from Grid.

I guess the only way to have a real Grid Zero (emphasis on Zero) is to disconnect the AC input somehow. Or maybe in a future update to allow a 0 setting for the DOD Amps, instead of 1. But it's kinda baffling to have lots of amps coming from the CC and still have to grab 120 Watts from the Grid...
