Okay - Revised Post
At first it seemed that I had an OutBack client whose FX turned into some kind of FXR after a firmware upgrade. (The new FXR series of inverters use some of the grid/hybrid technology that was introduced in their Radian series.) I am now assured that that is not possible. Perhaps a controller board was also updated? Perhaps they ordered a VFX2812 but a VFXR2812A was shipped because the former is now obsolete? I will share more details when they come to light.
Anyway, the point for now is that if you happen to be monitoring your system with software and you upgrade your FX to an FXR inverter, the software will stop working.
I discovered this (the hard way, as usual
) when working with a WattPlot client whose software suddenly began failing.
I will be releasing a patch to the WattPlot
tools over the next few days to correct this issue and provide full support for all the FXR inverters out there. (WattPlot SumMATE
has already been updated.
