Re: Not Ideal but need to buy some time.

Hi
You say $5000 to get a cable .
If i was you i would just go on to the grid . Cheaper easier .

Re: 12v Solar Array vs 24v ..

not exactly answering your question .... but your voltages for each day look low . do you get an absorb ?
What are your float and absorb voltage settings .
What size is your battery ?

Looks like another inverter may be your solution ,? my inverter has no problems with absorb or eqilization voltages .

Re: load rail voltage ...

So you would like to run the inverter directly from the load terminals on the fm30 . And would like the load terminal voltage to a lower voltage than the charging voltage that the fm30 is putting out ?

Re: load rail voltage ...

Hi .
I have the fm80 . It is easy to change with mate,or directly .
Your fm30 is a different controller . If the mate talks to it , then i assume it can be adjusted via the mates menu .
I dont see the fm30 listed on the american outback site .

Re: load rail voltage ...

hmm difficult to find info . the manual says pre set voltages for gel flooded etc . however specs mention a user voltage of 9 to 17 volts ... but cant see how to change ?
this model not available where i am .

Re: generator

FNDC is a outback monitoring product that gives you state of charge of batterys. strange how your charging changed on fitting the new Mate , think it should not change things. you can change charge controller directly at charge controller without the use of Mate. You do however need the mate to adju...

Haven't seen a graph .... but suppose it depends on the appliance, i think my tv is insignificant in standby . However the washing machine is 9 watts or so . i turn that off at wall . Thanks to Bill pointing out its standby usage .

Definitely dont want data and power runing close parallel to each other . 300 mm is the closest .

Re: FM 80 stopped sending Amps

you may indeed have some tired batterys .... But if your controller is in any mode , when a load is applied to the inverter and if sun is out in abundance , the amps out of fm80 should increase to try to maintain the voltage set point . what are your voltages set to for absorb and float. If corect i...

Re: Battery Not Charging

certainly you have a discharged battery .
When sun is out measure the voltage . out of controller it should be in excess of 28 volts ( assuming a 24 volt system )
Maybe the charge controller has failed .
Check the voltage across panels .. it should be maybe 35 to 45 volts .
Any fuses to check ?

Re: technical question

Hi . The absorb voltage is a target , at the start the voltage will be low, as the battery charges the voltage will rise and current will reduce . Once the target is reached then the absorb timer will countdown the absorb time . In your case i think you are still in the bulk stage , trying to reach ...

Re: Earthing DC side and appropriate fuses

Hi
AS/NZS standard 4509 part 2 3.6.6 says ... when battery is floating ie neither positive or negative is earthed , then fuses are required in both positive and negative .
And if one side of battery bank is earthed then a fuse or breaker shall be provided in the unearthed lead.

Re: High inverter temperatures

Hi
Looking at my temps
fets caps and transformer normally run within a couple of degrees of each other.
But being off grid my inverter is most of the time not with big loads .
