Re: What reasons for AC Input not accepted?

Good find. I was going to suggest make sure the neutral is connected. I had one system that had 240V but L1-N and L2-N were way out of wack. Turned out my licensed electrician on that job had a poorly installed wire nut on the grid neutral.

Re: System unresponsive when grid power retured

Check the voltage on the battery. and be sure that the breakers from battery to inverter and charge controller are turned on. I suspect that the 175 A are the breakers. They are on. I agree there is an issue with presence of battery voltage as CC and Mate3 have no display. The 175A breakers are you...

But most of us are now carrying around a device with a barometric sensor, two or three cameras, facial recognition, 6+ radios, GPS, flashlight and more compute power we had on our desktop 10 years ago.

@pss, since you have a GS8048A, Mate3s, with 8330 W of PV, are grid-tied, and an experienced user; please check in your installer menu grid-tie settings if you can set the sell limit to >15A. It would also be useful if you can report if you have ever sold more than 3.5kW back to the grid (e.g., ~15A...

Re: Grid tie being limited

Okay, so you insist you had enough PV output with batteries at soc 100 percent, plus loads and system overhead to also spit back 7200 watts to the grid at the same time. So please go back through the dates in Optics RE and post the screen shot where this took place. @pss, his max hourly grid sell f...

Re: Grid tie being limited

Take a look at this app note http://www.outbackpower.com/downloads/documents/appnotes/upgrading_1_6_63_app_note.pdf . It looks like you found the menu. I am running 1.6.7 on my GS8048A with a Mate3 and confirmed that I can set the sell limit to 30A. In the GS8048A release notes for 1.6.7 it shows th...

Re: Low Battery Cut Out Failed... why?

@fcwlp was asking about Low Battery Cut-IN voltage. Its a separate value than Low Battery Cut-OUT. Thanks @raysun. Theory is that LBCO may have activated but then saw that it was above LBCI (Low Battery Cut In) voltage and kept inverting. I tested that you could set LBCI below LBCO in OpticsRE, so ...

Re: Grid Up, Batteries Charged, Lights Go Out

You are correct to point out that “the inverter being off is one issue solved.” I am still puzzled as to how I was selling with the inverter off? Selling was happening. I haven’t had an electric bill (other than meter fees) for years. From OpticsRE's System Tools I just shut my inverter off and it ...

Re: Grid Up, Batteries Charged, Lights Go Out

Does that looks like good battery performance. Overall, I’m jazzed. I think the inverter being off was the problem. What do you think! The inverter being off was one issue solved. Have you confirmed and updated the Mate3s firmware? I agree with EA6LE-ONE and Mike that your batteries are at end of l...

Re: Grid Up, Batteries Charged, Lights Go Out

One additional question. Do you have a Radian GS8048 or GS8048A? There should be a sticker on the outside of the Radian. Given your 2013 install date it may be the GS8048.

Re: Grid Up, Batteries Charged, Lights Go Out

In your OpticsRE screenshot, all of the V calibration changes that are showing indicate a likely down-level firmware on your Mate3s if I recall another case correctly. Report the firmware level (shown on the status page of the Mate3s in OpticsRE) and then upgrade to the latest level. http://www.outb...

Re: FM80s Not Using Full Solar Array Wattage

In the morning, the two FM80s take in roughly 59.8V from the solar panels and outputting 56.3V. Later in the day, they can get up to 62.4 from the solar panels and outputting 59.4V while absorbing. Are the two voltages too close to each other for the FM80s? I have gone through many threads on this ...

Re: Grid Up, Batteries Charged, Lights Go Out

No events are registered in the Mate 3s. Have you checked the "Event History" on OpticsRE during these events? You can search for "generator" to locate the event but then should look around that time. Other good search terms are "Battery Voltage" and "AGS." Also for the Show Items dialog box, selec...

I have two customer systems that I inherited, one with a Kohler 12RES and one with a Kohler 14RES that are both hooked up to 120V inverters w/o auto-transformers. The 12RES is in the same model group as your 8.5. So far both generators have not shown an issue after 6+ years. While researching your q...

Rob, it looks like your system was installed by someone who was skilled, given the clean layout and incorporation of two auto-transformers. What you have not described is how many watts of PV that you have and the charge controller(s) used. Since initial install was done in 2013 or earlier (when PV ...
