Re: Grid Sell Voltage Setpoint Stuck

Please provide your absorb voltage, absorb time, float voltage, float time and sell voltage parameters. An OpticsRE graph showing the battery V, Solar, and Grid Out would be helpful if you have OpticsRE.

Re: Time of Use and Grid Tie Sell

Hi Rob, I have a grid tied Radian with FM80s and customer has a grid-tied Radian with an FM100, both with FLA batteries. In OpticsRE, under Global Charge what is your "Auto Grid-Tie Control" set to. Both systems have this as "disabled." If I recall correctly, when I tried "enabled" it caused similar...

Re: heavy load causing voltage drop

Hi Jeff, I do not have expertise with 3-phase but am interested in it for a future machine shop myself. I have installed a very nice Phase Perfect digital phase converter to create 3 phase power in the shop. I looked at this page https://www.phasetechnologies.com/downloads/New_Phase_Perfect_Specific...

Re: PV Voltage Goes to Zero When Closing Breaker

You appear to have a short between your positive and negative/ground somewhere in or past the combiner box. To start the debug process: Shutoff PV breakers, Measure resistance between the positive bus plate and the negative terminal block, I expect it will be ~0, if so you are going to have to move ...

Re: So what did I burn up

The probability of damaging the "cheap" PV input CB or CC output GFDI is low. Most likely you have damaged the more expensive FM80. The FM80 manual gives rather dire warnings to never exceed 150VDC or damage is likely.

I recommend you contact tech support, it may be possible to repair the CC.

Re: AGS: How do timers work?

Are there any other unknown variables? I've made a program to monitor the Mate2 and I think there's more than enough information from the Mate2 to determine when that counter started, and if it is configured to stop counting or to count up, I can also detect that pretty easily. With your ability to...

Basically, I'd like to reverse engineer it and figure out how to determine what it should be if I'm just given a battery voltage and the operational mode that the FX is in.
You have a quite a few more unknowns in the equation to be able to "reverse engineer" the time.

As per manual, you should set your Master Power Save Level (port 1) to its default of 0, and the Slave inverter (port 2) to 1.
Greg, are you suggesting that this is the cause of the phase loss error on the slave or just something to correct?

Certainly I haven't been misleading myself all this time, eh? (wink) It happens to all of us on some thing/topic. The only thing I can think of is that the assumed behavior changed with a firmware update sometime in the past. Unless you sent the FM80 back to the factory for a firmware updat...

Re: Time of Use and Grid Tie Sell

The system is also set to disconnect from the grid just before 4 PM and to reconnect just after 9 PM when electric rates are the highest through the Mate 3S Grid Use menu tab. So the system operates on batteries from 4-9 PM. Looks good. Rather than disconnecting from the grid, I normally use Grid Z...

Re: String Sizing Tool for MX and FM Charge Controllers

Jason, attached is the string sizing tool run for 9 CS 255W panels module model # C6P-255. You should confirm that this is your actual module model number. I put your min temp at -40C to be on the safe side and the string voltage is 137V which is good. If you look at the STC line you see that your a...

Re: RADIAN GS8048A GRID TIED TROUBLESHOOTING NEEDED

and to answer your most recent question, "I wonder if grid-tied would be better?" Grid-tied mode is definitely the way to go. Your Radians, as with most all grid-tied inverters today, comply with UL1741, which requires it to have that islanding provision, which disconnects it from the grid (and inc...

Re: Daily "Phase Loss" Error

Welcome Gary, Posting a few more details about your system may help. As you are grid-tied, the disturbance is likely coming from the grid and for some reason the slave is more sensitive. Since the time of the error is repeatable, try running in Mini Grid mode or disconnect from grid completely and r...

There should be three temperatures reported. Cooling Fan function likely switches on somewhere between 60C and 80C or 140F and 176F.

Why are you using the cooling fan to start with?

You said this is now a rental. Hopefully you've locked down Mate3 access. Even then there is stuff that can be changed - I believe. Best to have strict instructions for DO NOT TOUCH for "Mr. Buttons."
And make sure to save your golden settings copy to an SD Card stored in a safe location.

The "Cool Fan" is designed to switch on the Aux Output when the internal temp of the inverter reaches some temperature which is not specified. Purpose is to provide additional external cooling using the switched 12V Aux Output, which you are using. It looks like your fan is running for ~3 minutes. Y...
