Re: Rapid Shutdown (RSD) with Midnite SOB

Gwendoly - You say Skybox is compatible with Tigo but their TS4-R-F rapid shutdown solution seems to work the same way that bhsolar describes the Midnite Solar SOB device, via PowerLine communication, except that the Tigo requires MLPE at each module vs. the SOB using just one device per string. Ca...

Re: NEW* How To Set Up SimpliPhi™ Batteries Using OutBack Chargers

The low battery cut out time changed from 6 seconds to 130 seconds. ( while 90% and 100% are still at 1 second) When the battery drops below the re-bulk voltage it needs to be there for 2 min before LBCO in order to put time on the charge timers. For the 90% and 100% the voltage delta in between th...

Re: AC coupling Configuration Question

It will never connect to Grid in Mini Grid mode, so no it will never charge from Grid. The rule is it will only connect to AC sources set as Grid-Tied or Generator mode. Any other AC Input mode can be set with AC Coupling on but the unit will never connect to the AC Input in that condition. It will ...

Re: NEW* How To Set Up SimpliPhi™ Batteries Using OutBack Chargers

You may want to make the document clear or I am just reading incorrectly( which is more likely what is happening) in respect to the Charger AC limit(ACC). the lists in the chart: AC Charger Limit in AC Amps 24V = 5A @ 240V (5.2 @ 230V), or 10A @ 120V 48V = 8A @ 240V (8 @ 230), or 17A @ 120V But at ...

Thanks Gwendoly. Do these settings also apply for Skybox inverters? I ask because I see references to Radians, but no mention of Skybox. Thanks - Mike
Hi!

It's intended for Radian inverters. SkyBox should have SimpliPhi settings preloaded so that one doesn't need to do any of these settings.

Re: Powering inverter on and off via OpticsRE

I've attached a screenshot of where you can turn on/off the inverter output remotely. Your FLEXmax60/80 should be able to recharge the batteries as long as the battery voltage doesn't drop below 10.5 Vdc and an FM100 should be able to recharge the batteries as long as the battery voltage doesn't dro...

Hello! Do you have an OpticsRE profile for this system? If so what is the name? Is GT mode "Enabled" for the FM100 in the Charge Controller menu? What is the Status light doing when you think the system should be in GT mode? The green status light in GT mode should be blinking. If the blue light is ...

Re: FP1 FXR3048A - Grid-Zero

Do you have OpticsRE? Are these lead-acid drop in replacement Li-ion batteries, if so which ones? If not, which ones and do you have a BMS? Lithium Ion batteries have a steep drop off in voltage when discharging. I wonder if you are quickly passing the DoD Volts straight to LBCO. I'm looking into th...

Re: FP1 FXR3048A - Grid-Zero

Hello, The batteries will be used up to threshold then stop and pull more power from the inverter. However, in Grid-Zero mode the batteries will not be charged by the grid. It should be recharged by the renewable source. So, with nothing to recharge the batteries, I'm guessing that it did stop and t...

Re: Rapid Shutdown (RSD) with Midnite SOB

Have you considered Tigo or IMO without a combiner, if a combiner is not necessary? We do not require a combiner for the SkyBox units, so one could connect directly to the SkyBox unit and use Tigo or IMO for the NEC 2017 cycle. The SkyBox-RSD-1 is more for NEC 2014 requirements. If you were to use t...

Which MATE do you have? The manual says you need a MATE3 class system with this product. That would be a MATE3 or a MATE3s. Uses the MATE3Ôäó class of System Display and Controller products, or the AXS PortÔäó Perhaps double check where you are connecting it on the MATE3 and the inverter. On the MAT...
