Re: How to Get Maximum Sell KWH with Radian 8048A

Hello, I dont quite understand: What I had found in the past was that the "sell current limit" in the grid interface protection menu SHOULD NEVER BE REACHED. But I think I can answer your question. To maximize your KWH, you will want to set your Sell Current to the full 30Aac. Let's say you do set y...

Re: 8048A off after 10 seconds of AC load

Hello, The Out Voltage Low Error can be from either pulling too much power from the inverter ( surge or continuous) or the battery bank is sized too small and can't provide enough energy to the loads, collapsing the battery voltage thus the AC output voltage too (this can happen quickly). What loads...

Re: How to Get Maximum Sell KWH with Radian 8048A

Hello, Here are some tips to try to get the most out of your P.V.: 1) Set your CC to Grid-Tied mode: C-5. Grid-Tie Mode This menu allows the charge controller to work more effectively with any grid-interactive inverters present on the HUB. When enabled, this setting automatically raises the charge c...

Re: 8048A off after 10 seconds of AC load

8048A shuts off after approx 10 seconds after i turn it on using the Mate3s. It shuts off with load or no load the same amount of time. Battery bank is good. 4000w off the grid. A low voltage error on the Mate3s appears each time i try. 0 Vac. Load runs fine on the back up genny connected through t...

Re: Performance of Nano Carbon Batteries

I've seen lots of data about how well nano carbon batteries perform if they only receive a freshening charge 1-2 times a month and operate at 50%-80% SOC. How many more cycles will these batteries give if charged up every single day? Will the Yes! There has been two battery focused webinars these p...

Re: Thanks Outback!

Well I am coming up on my two year anniversary being off grid with no back up generator. My system has been very reliable and it's been pretty much a "plug and play" affair since it was put into service. I have learned to make a few seasonal adjustments to absorb times and have been able to keep my...

Re: Start Up

Hello, I'm not very familiar with the Xantrex DR1512, but can you share a little more about your system? What module model is it? Are you off-gird or grid connected? Where are you located and what's the weather like in that area? You may not get 100% of harvest for many reasons such as: 1) if the we...

Re: Backup, integrating generator and battery

I'm in Maine. System is 6.6 kw, with Solaredge inverter. I looked into battery back-up systems, but both (Powerwall2 and LG) didn't permit the battery to be charged with a generator. We often have grid outages in winter, accompanied by snow and ice. If I can't charge the battery with my generator, ...

Re: Temperature compensation

Hello, The OB inverters has a fixed compensation of 5mV/C/cell. So let's do the math: .005V (25-10) * 24 Cells= 1.8V adjustment. So it should be targeting a voltage that actually 59.4V. Let's see what we can do. Where is your temp compensation connecting to? Do you have an FNDC? Next time you are at...

Hello, Can you share more about your system? Are you interconnected with the grid? Can you list all the components in your system for us? Do you have an OpticsRE account? It sounds like you may have Grid-Tie Inverters in the system as well? Can you post your configuration file? We'll see what we can...

Re: Do you have an A/C Coupled setup?

Hello,

We have an AC Coupling Grid Tie Inverters With OutBack Battery-Based Inverters application note available.

This utilizes a 24V solid state relay.

I hope this provides some additional information on how to AC couple OB products.

Re: Chevy Volt Battery

Lithium-ion batteries should have a BMS in order to ensure each cell is not overcharged/undercharged, as it may result in undesirable events. Most battery based inverters only see the string level, not down to the cell level. In order to read to the cell level, one would need to install equipment on...
