Re: every 1 minute and 20 seconds lost connection

its necessary to the mate 3 enable dhcp for the correctly function? No. You can have a static IP address but the router can duplicate it and make an address fight = lose data. A static IP in the device can be an address outside the allowable range, of the router, and the router can't access it. = n...

That can be a problem if your router assigns the same IP address to another device or the IP is outside of it's allowable range.

It's usually better to make an entry into the router's IP reservation table and enable DHCP in the device (Mate3).

Maybe you are overloading the Ethernet driver or buffer, making it too busy, if you are continuously pinging it. Try slowing the ping down to see what happens.

Re: SOC goes down when selling power

We figured it out - one of the leads from a shunt to the FNDC was not screwed down tight - came that way from the factory. Once I tightened that screw, problem went away. Nice! Good catch! After wiring my FlexPower II from scratch I went over every connection again. After about six months I shut it...

Re: Mate3 Rev 003.015.000 reports

Weekend update on client system performance for OB troubleshooting use. 22-May-2016 1800 hrs - OpticsRE dashboard shows zeros for PV, Grid, etc... with the same OpticsRE message: "Current System Status : PARTIAL CONNECTION (05/20/2016 14:48) " shown above the circular PV gauge. Re: OpticsRE Solar reporting

Have latest 3.15.1 firmware on Mate 3 Appears my OpticsRE solar production is reported significantly higher than on my FM80 logs 36.5kw vs 16.8kw. It was not a 30kw sun day for sure. What is anyone else seeing? This used to be pretty good excepting for counting generator kW into the load measuremen...

Re: Mate3 Rev 003.015.001 Reports

Whatever OB did this system is working great. Even OpticsRE seems to be easy to access every time from various browsers. We had a few data holes yesterday but all recovered and it looks like an OpticsRE hiccup. Both the local javaScript webpage and opticsRE are functioning at the same time. Be nice ...

Re: Will brand new appliances be safe on brand new system?

First grid energy is created with as clean of a sinewave as you can get. It is customer loads that create harmonics on the grid power and they usually don't travel far, as the power lines act as filters for high-frequencies. HID lighting creates second harmonics and is hard for utilities to filter o...

Re: GVFX upgrading firmware, AXS port

Just looking to upgrade to lastest firmware on the GVFX3648 and I have an AXS port. Is upgrading similar to upgrading on the Mate3? redspectrum I don't see any upgrades available for the GVFX3648 or any OB inverter. I don't believe OB has put out an upgrade for many years for the inverters. The AXS...

Re: OpticsRE down again May 13, 2016

The week is here - OpticsRe is offline. Like clockwork! My data updates have a hole in the OpticsRE load graphs about 12:00 noon EDT and 5:00 PM today but recovered by itself, each time. My reboot time is set at 20 hrs. right now so both could not be attributed to programmed reboots. Using v003.015...

Re: Mate3 Rev 3.15 reports

Excellent! Now try the new v3.15.1 upgrade! It works wonderfully for me. OB just doesn't get the programme to at least announce their product output??? **SIGH** I noticed some OpticsRE improvements as well and I can't attribute that to the Mate3 upgrade. Seems smoother and faster. Imagination? Maybe.

We run similar lives except I am grid-tied and you are in a repressive energy culture.

At -30 degrees C weather in the winter, we need more reliable energy, or we can be in trouble.

Re: Mate3 Rev 3.15 reports

Wait a minute. There is something possibly wrong with this idea. MAC addresses do not go beyond the first router point where they are substituted for an IP address by a DHCP server. Everything from there on is dealt with by IP addresses in normal TCP/IP speak. OTOH they could be sending the MAC addr...

Re: Mate3 Rev 3.15 reports

Well, I think MAC address is unique to the individual Mate. Technically I suppose I didn't change the address of my original site, I just made a new one. At some point the old one will disappear, but hopefully OB will have devised a way to transfer that history into the new site. The actual change ...

Thanks Kurt. I would like to go with the OpticsRE because I'm one of those people who doesn't understand port forwarding (e.g. setting up remote access to webcams) and it sounds like Wattplot requires a bit more tech expertise (I could be wrong though, and no diss on Andrew's software - I see a lot...

Re: NiFe Batteries vs Reclaiming Rolls Bank

Yeah, most PV people are hobbyists with knowledge and can do this stuff themselves. The installers never like that part. I believe if you can't do it then waste your wallet on "professionals", that usually leave you studying the books anyway, after they leave, or don't have the systems. Sounds like ...

Other two had less time, but I believe I read that the cc need not be in sync. I did another SG and bad c...

There is the start of your problems, Voltage is "about in the middle" for Rolls spec, But absorb time is way too short at 1hr default, It needs to be around 3 to 4 hrs presuming the charge controller's, (do not forget you have to program each of them individually) are terminating charge & not the F...
