Re: wind turbine

Mike I also had to go from 8 foot blades to nine foot to keep the blades from stalling. I haven't tried a voltage doubler. I go several months during summer with no wind at all. Hope it all works out for you. I take it you have never ran into a situation where it raised your battery voltage too high...

I will not dignify your rude post with an answer, Vic.
Normaly vic is trying to help and if he ask or points out stuff and your response is this, then the only one being rude is you to him and now me to you.

Re: run a 24 volt inverter from 48 volt battery bank?

You could probly do it but it would add quite a bit of loss I think and if I have it correct it would be a buck converter sort of like the fm80 and for 6000 watts would not be cheap as the fm80 is around $600 and it is not heavy enough.
I am not an expert though.

Re: Outback radian v. Stacked 3024's

My opinion, Which set up is cheaper? Thats the one I would go with. If they cost the same, I would probly go with the radian but can not really give good reasons why except it is the latest and should have the latest funtions.
Good luck

Re: AGS not stopping generator as expected

Chris I am assuming that you batteries are agm and you can't check their sg. I read an interesting post on a differrent forum that basically said that phone systems that use agms in flote tell it is time to change the batteries (used for their needs) when the finnish charge gets to taking 2% current...

I don't see why there would be, altough I have the same distance from mine to my house and I like being near all my eqipment when making adjustments on the mate to see how my equiptment respond to my setting changes. Re: Q for the Outback Tech's: FM80's Terminal AMP Ratings?

surf path, You must have a fairly short run with 6awg wire, every time you ad more amps you voltage drop will be greater. I don't know if there is a point of diminishing returns on how far you can go. The amps you gave for your strings now are, I am assuming, Your cc output amps and not what is runn...

Re: AGS not stopping generator as expected

I tried to answer better eirlier but had to leave. 1. Why does ADV/CC/CHGR show "NA" for all settings? On my system I can view and set these settings via the Mate or the FX80 (this is an MX60 system)? On mine, all settings have to be done at the cc for the cc. I have one fm80 and one mx60. What can ...

I haven't got time to go thruogh your post today but one thing. each device has to have its settings done at the device. you can only veiw through the mate but settings need to be done at the device. when caqlibrating watch the voltage cause you are changing what the device sees, you need a multie m...

Re: AC Input Control uncommanded drop

I have a g inverter that is very picky of the generator input. It quits accepting my gen ac all the time and gives no fault. I have to believe that he is getting dirty power. Mine will reconnect on its own after the wait period. Is his generator an inverter gen? I don't know his issue but if a load ...

Re: Low AC Output Voltage Error from VFX3024E

The only thing I can think of is the wires being lose/too small from the batteries to carry the amps needed to the inverter. Are your batteries wired in parelel along the lines of this? http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/batt_con.html Is your shunt choking the current (big enough for the job) Are your batt...

If you use your generator or hydro on the generator imput I don't think the radian would sell. I thought sell was disabled when generator setting was selected. You can not allow a generator to be back fed. Check your manual to see if I am correct. I am assumming buy your question your hydro is high ...

If it were me, I would call the supplier, but before I bought anything I would call outback. Shiped to america they charged $800 or so and sent the boards with a return shipping lable and when you replaced the board and sent your old one back they refunded about $300, so total cost was about $500 fo...

This may sound stupid but give the batteries a good shake. I read another thread where the guy with the same problim with you swore that shaking them while charging got the batteries working again.

Re: Diagnosing dead VFX 3048 - which board?

I will be honest, I had only one inverter go out due to close lightning and I just replaced all three board. I do know that when I took it apart it looked to me like only one board was noticably bad. Outback basicly offered all three and so I replaced all three. If you power up with the 9 volt batte...

Re: Outback grid-tie/solar pv problem

I found this statement from an earlyer post interesting on checking battery health. You can tell your batteries are "healthy" if you drop the grid around solar noon on a clear and sunny day and the batteries immediately jump into "Absorb" and the charger current rapidly declines. If the transition f...

Thanks for the answer, I had thought everyting reset to the inverter every day like it does on the cc. On the cc you will be in bulk the next morning even if you had no loads on your battery and it was full based on a 24 hour cycle. I had thought the inverter charged daily also. Now I am going to ha...

I didn't understand that it worked that way. It just bypasses absorb when it sees that I have enough voltage to sell.
