Re: Substitute a MidNite Classic

Hi WireWiz,

The main drawback is you will be unable to monitor the MidNite CC's on your Mate3, and OpticsRE. Having all OutBack equipment will also allow you to work with our tech support team for all of your equipment instead of having to call a couple companies.

Thank you,

Re: Substitute a MidNite Classic

Hi SuperiorSolarVA, The FLEXnet DC is going to give you the ability to have SOC on the Mate. You can monitor up to three shunts. This will give you more data about how your system is operating, and help you optimize your programming. The mate will allow you to monitor all of your OutBack Equipment f...

The FX series inverters cannot be converted from a 12vdc to any other DC voltage.

Re: FLEXmax 80A always snoozing

It sounds like you panels may not be wired to give you the voltage difference you need for charging your 48vdc battery bank. Make sure your max power voltage is 12-24 volts higher then your charge voltage.

Next to the low ac output error do you get a "Yes" or a "no?"

Also what is the battery voltage when your system cuts out?

Have you verified that your absorb and float settings are identical in both? What are the charge settings you're using (Absorb and Float)?

When you turn the battery breaker on do you get the fans in the inverter to fire up. How to you have the batteries wired to the bottom of the Radian? Make sure you are powering up both power modules, and not just one.

Re: RADIAN Grid Sellback "Hunting"

Whats the size of your PV array. It could be that when the Radian started to sell more than the array was sending the battery voltage would drop to the SellRE setpoint.

I hope this helps.

The 20 amp charge limit is AC amperage, not DC amperage. The VFX3648 has a Continuous Battery Charger Output of 45 amps DC.

Re: Mate on FP1-4 Question

Hello, Sounds like you may not have your inverter shunt enabled. Go to ADV>DC>SHUNT and verify you have all three shunts enabled. That way you are accounting for everything. Also on the FP1, did you land your battery negative on the left or right side of the shunt? If on the right side this would ex...

Re: Does Radian have Generator Support?

The Radian does have a support mode where the inverter will support an undersized generator or grid. The Support mode is intended for systems that use the utility grid or a generator. In some cases, the amount of current available from the source is limited due to size, wiring, or other reasons. If ...

Re: AC Input Voltage Too High Problem

Is your generator 120/240Vac at 60Hz or is it 230Vac at 50Hz. I ask because this inverter is looking for 230Vac 50Hz and if you connect a 240Vac 60Hz genset to it you could have problems.

Re: Power used by house inaccurate

To accomplish this you would need to have all your loads on the output of the inverters, and the utility connected to the input of the inverter. Set your sell to no sell and just invert power until your battery voltage drops. In this scenario you will be using the utility like a back up generator. I...

Re: X-240 Help

One way you could accomplish this so you only need one x-240 would be to wire up the system as follows.

Generator > 240 Load Panel (Compressor) > x-240 > AC input of inverter > AC output to 120 Load panel.

I hope this helps.

Re: Electrician Says I Need Two Inverters to Balance the Loads

If the utility doesn't have an issue with this I would say its not a problem. The inverter matches to the utility phase before you ever start selling power so you shouldn't have any problem with injecting a phase different from the utility.

I would suggest tightening the twisted pair wires on the back of the FNDC and see if that helps. Also check the other end of those wires (At the shunts and battery). If that doesn't help I would try another Cat5 cable between the FNDC and the Hub. Please let me know if this solves the problem or if ...

You need a wireless NIC that will connect from the Mate3 ethernet port to the router. Below is a link to one I've used in the past.
