Re: What are the consequences of "AGS Fault Time"?

The "Gen Alert" Aux function is only for battery voltage? Or also by load demand? My vfx is only 3kva and grid is 3,45kva (máx 5,5kva for 10 minutes) Gen Alert is for battery voltage only. I did not think that you were also considering the load start feature of AGS. Switching under heavy load will ...

Re: What are the consequences of "AGS Fault Time"?

I initially wanted to use the Mate's HBX feature but you advised me not to... in EU, the ac-in is only for ac-generator, not for grid... Did I understand correctly? The inverter isn't listed for being connected to the grid. That is the only reason why the manual says generator only. If your local i...

Re: FXR 2524 Inverter with an Annoying Hum

If there is 0V on the DC bus it sounds like the battle born BMS is shutting the battery output off. The inverter has input capacitors that create a momentary surge on the battery bank when it is started. It could be that 2 strings are the minimum necessary to start the inverter due to a possible BMS...

Re: FXR 2524 Inverter with an Annoying Hum

I did a quick scrub of the battery manual and website but didn't find any useful info. I suggest you call Battle-Born tech support. If you disconnect batteries 3&4 the system can probably still run with 1&2 wired in series.

Re: 2x stacked GS8048As - only master inverter participating in grid selling, regardless which is master

Hi Ty, I took a gander at your OpticsRE profile. Yesterday at 5:00 PM it looks like the system sold over 10kWh so I think both inverters were selling then. I didn't see a specific reason why the second inverter isn't selling power but I have a few suggestions. Mate3s: Disable Global Charger Control ...

Re: What are the consequences of "AGS Fault Time"?

The Mate stops trying to start the generator by shutting off the AGS AUX port. The Mate will not try to start the generator again until the error is cleared. You have to set AGS to Manual Off then back to Auto or power cycle the Mate to reset the error. What is your goal? Maybe there is an alternate...

The OB taps the grid supply from a 50A breaker on the main panel....
Do you have a wiring diagram or could you explain how the breaker/fuse/inverter input circuit is set up? Does the Mate3 show "AC input too high" in the events log?

Thanks,

See pages 6-7 of the following app note for instructions on how to wire the FNDC relay to the Master FXR On/Off terminals. http://www.outbackpower.com/downloads/documents/appnotes/simpliphi_app_note.pdf You can set the FNDC relay to cut out at 50.4 to turn the inverter off to help prevent the batter...

Re: HUB10 inoperable

Earlier where I said AUX port I should have said MATE/HUB port. The HUB gets power from a 22V signal provided by the MATE/HUB port on each OutBack device (except for the Mate/Mate3 and FNDC). Normally the multiple devices that power the HUB play friendly and all is well. If just one of the connected...

Re: HUB10 inoperable

I've seen this happen when a device AUX port is shorted. Plugin the Master inverter and Mate to the Hub. If the Mate screen powers on plug in the slave inverter to port 2. Keep plugging in devices until the Mate screen goes away. When you find the problem can try a different cable and Hub port. Eith...

Re: FXR 2524 Inverter with an Annoying Hum

I'm glad to hear the inverter noise is barely audible now. My guess is the voltage sense issue is related to the lack of a DC negative to ground bond. I did not ground my batteries to earth, if that's what you're asking. I've heard ground them, don't ground them, etc etc. My last 2 systems I never g...

Re: FXR 2524 Inverter with an Annoying Hum

IMHO, this is still sketchy. I have two 8 foot 5/8" copper coated rods driven it at 4 foot (for now) and separated 6 ft apart. I know it needs to go deeper and one rod takes my AC panel grounding while the other one takes my CC and inverter. Out at my array, I have an 8 ft rod that I got 6 feet dow...

Glad to hear it is working again. The active Mate3 IP address should be top line of the screen after pressing the PORT button. If you are looking in the LOCK > SETTINGS > SYSTEM> ETHERNET ADDRESSES menu you will not see the active IP address.

The "R" model inverters all have welded relay detection so you don't have to worry about it.

Re: How to combine off-grid inverter with power grid?

Connecting the E model to the grid will not damage it. The manual says it is only for generator because it doesn't have any listings for being connected to the grid. The VFX3024E will not push power back over the AC input (sell). If the inverter AC relay welded closed it could be possible to have po...

Re: Psx-240/generator load balancing

Hi Bill, What you are seeing is common. L1 is a straight path to the inverter while L2 has to be inducted. Typically 60/40 (12A/8A) is the best an autoformer can do when stepping down voltage. You are getting 75/25 (15A/5A). You could add a 10A load directly on L2 of the generator to help balance it...

It is a pretty easy tweak that I think would be well within your capabilities. It would give you a chance to lower the LBCO but still not have to worry about over-discharge.

There is no other device that allows the Mate/Mate2/Mate3/Mate3s to show %SOC.

Maybe the auto start controller on the genset is what is driving the relay If you are using the AGS program on the Mate3 then it would be one of the OutBack products powering the relay. In the Advanced Generator Start menu on the Mate3 look in SETUP and note the number to the right of PORT. My gues...
