Re: MATE serial out. Negative numbers for FN-DC shunts

Some solutions poll that URL for data, but I would say itÔÇÖs not the most reliable. My system reads the Datastream (UDP packets) sent out by the Mate3, and there are others that even use the APX (sunspec) interface. ThereÔÇÖs a serial interface too, which was used in the Days before mate3, but not ...

Re: DC generators

You canÔÇÖt understand why people would want to continue powering their house while charging? You think a lot of people would prefer to shut down the house in order to charge the batteries? That would seem unlikely to me. Even if the circuitry was physically possible to act as a charger and inverter...

DC generators

Even before switching to lithium I become very curious about DC generators. Although having a bypass switch and a full power AC generator that can power the house is very useful, the fact is that I have a backup portable that can do just that. So in an effort to boost efficiency, reliability, and re...

Re: what about lithium ?

Since I reconfigured the cells from 8S2P to 16S nearly 4 years ago, I haven't been using a BMS. I Absorb for about 3 hours at 55.2V and float at 53.5V. At that float voltage (float is not charging!) the battery very slowly discharges. I had the LVD of my 7kW Latronics inverter modified at the facto...

Re: what about lithium ?

Which Calb cells are you using? What's the voltage and amp-hour capacity of your battery? What BMS do you use? How are you charging the pack? Enquiring minds want to know. ;) Don't know about him, but I am using CALB CA400 LiFePO4 3.2V batteries. They are connected in pairs to get 800Ah, then those...

Hi Dan, You can send me the URL to your installation (Private Message perhaps?) and I can look to see what's going on. If I had to guess, I'd say your web server doesn't have write permission to the data directory. The graphs and charts are built off the SQL data, but the live view data is read from...

AGS not flipping FNDC relay?

I use the FNDC on port 5 as the relay for my Generator start/stop via the Mate3 AGS features. It used to work just fine, but recently I've noticed the Mate3 reporting it's turned the generator off, and the AC IN is dropped, but the light is blinking because it still sees power on the AC Inputs. Sure...

After your charge, can you check what the mate reports as the battery net amp hours? My guess is it's reporting positive, way over zero.

Re: Drastic SOC Change

So, the FNDC is reset to full batteries in their current state/age but after the draw down and recharge, SOC seems "stuck" at 100%. The unit is totally confused. At this point I'm not sure what next steps should be taken. I suppose I'll watch to see what happens for the next few days but I'm thinki...

Those are just PDFs. You can open them on your iMac. I'm all Mac myself. As Andrew points out, the USB card manual has even more information.

Re: where do i find headers for SD card from Mate 3 output

I think what you're looking for is on page 123 and 141 of the Mate3 manual. Some logs contain the headers, and others do not. There's a few different types of logs as well as the logs for various devices. Here's an example of the inverter log, which apparently doesn't include the header. data log he...

... as it creeps up without notice as we know. FYI SOC can (and often does) jump to 100% before your batteries are actually charged because of a different bug in the logic around net Ah/corrected Ah removed from battery and a tricky bit of logic code the tries to account for drifting values in the ...

Re: Drastic SOC Change

With regards to the original post about the charge being 99% in the morning... I have had circumstances, usually at night (no sun!) when the generator charging has allowed the FNDC to report a positive Ah value for the batteries. In most circumstances this value is negative and usually during daylig...

Re: OpticsRE - What does the "load" bar represent?

I believe that "load" is as reported by the inverters. If you're on batteries, then it's the power being output by the inverters... this doesn't account for their lack of precision nor does it account for their own power consumption and inefficiencies. For instance, right now my FX reported "load" i...

How do you get modbus/tcp from the Mate3? I thought you needed to switch to the axs port, and you can't have the axs AND a Mate3 on the same hub.

I found it worked just fine, although I didn't try do any parsing or processing on the arduino. I just grabbed packets and sent them to a server which processed a...

Re: MATE3 / OpticsRE

From what you just showed, it looks like the Mate3 is requesting the MAC address of the router so that it can communicate with it over ethernet. The router never responds, so the mate is not able to network with the router specifically. ARP is a system that allows IP networking to happen over Ethern...

Re: Living in the (sort of) Future - Li-Ion Batteries

Heh, I just updated my profile. I have 32 CALB CA400 batteries. I'm using a BMS made by a local guy, so we're kind of guinea pigs. It's two strings, so the bank is 800Ah total. These batteries can live comfortably anywhere between 10% and 90%, but I have been even trying to keep them above 20%. So g...

Living in the (sort of) Future - Li-Ion Batteries

We just installed a new Lithium Ion battery bank. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) to be precise. So far so good ÔÇö it rendered the FNDC's SOC readout entirely useless, and setting battery/charge parameters was a bit fuzzy (not hard, just a lot of estimates and guesswork). The batteries themselves ...
