Re: Help identify this outlet

It’s a non-Nema inlet. Called a Hubbell connector. Rated for 50A at 120/240.

Re: How many Radians needed

Coming to this thread a bit late. So you have two GTI arrays, one with 22 panels and another with 120 or panels for a combined 35Kw of output. They are micro inverters, are fed underground to your panel where they are joined up to power loads and the grid. (Holy crap that’s a big array!) Fcwip linke...

Re: Generator backup

http://outbackpower.com/forum/download/file.php?id=3167&mode=view In the above photo you posted a couple of days ago, it looks like the bottom white plastic mount for the neutral bar is rotated to the left. This bonds the neutral to the ground in the GSLC. As you are grid-tied you want to remove th...

There is an EQ cycle: EQ VOltage = 58.4, EQ TIme = 1 hours (both are default) clarkf: "I would think that an AC charge rate of 100% of your SolarEdge max AAC output would be appropriate” Is this the Radian "Charger AC Limit" setting? Re: Generator backup

My generator is a manual connect/start connection, and I have always done the manual GTO disconnect. It sounds like the the relay was not needed for a manual connect/GTI disconnect, but it was installed anyway... maybe required, maybe not trusting I would do the GTI disconnect. Are you saying that ...

Re: Generator backup

I understood the ROCB was removed with the firmware update. I have no idea what the "generator interlock" is or what it does, so can't tell you when/if it ever changes. I also don't know what the setting dials are for, or even where to find out. The breaker in the GSLC labeled L1/L2 sure looks like...

Remote breaker: sounds like you may be referring to the ROBC relay, which was removed wit the the upgrade to MATE3s and firmware, adapted to handle AC Coupling. Attached is an image of my GSLC panel and the a new relay installed at the same time. Don't know what it is and my installer merely instru...

Re: Generator backup

Amp-hours... I have 12 x 220GH batteries. Don't know how to calculate and could not find a spec. I would want to optimize grid sell, as since grid-tied, the back-up is only needed during outages. Generally, the array output is enough for our daily loads. Not sure how to answer. I do not have a char...

Oh goodness, I didn't read the whole history so missed the AC Coupling stuff as well. I'm going to defer to @Clarkef because my experience (and some of the above advice) is from my off-grid background. You were doing great! Your troubleshooting advice was spot on. Re: Generator backup

Not available via my monitoring software and generally, SolarEdge only wants to work with installers. One of my challenges is that Optics...

Re: Generator backup

I have a Briggs & Stratton Elite (030209) 5500W gas generator, manual connect. Can't tell how how it is wired in, but it connects via the solar dedicated panel. What are your Radian battery charging settings? How are they different from your solar charging settings?

Re: Generator backup

Raysun, What size generator have you installed/connected? Make/model? How is it wired in? Are you using a GSLC? FYI My generator setting are also in the 120VAC range, instead of the expected 240V range. I don’t think that’s an issue. I just treat is as min/max per leg. I would lower your input volta...

Thanks! I found this link at the end which has a simplified list of compliant, with an added column for Freq/watt which is an optional part of the standard.

Just what I was looking for!

List of freq/watt compliant inverter’s?

Considering AC coupling for my next 5 or 6K array due to distance from the inverter/batteries.

Does anyone have a list of freq/watt compliant inverter’s/microinverters?

Should I be looking for “rule 21” or whatever that is?

Thanks!

Re: Setting up AGS - Where can I choose "remote control" in Radian menu?

Thanks Fcwlp, As far as the documentation, I even went and downloaded the latest from the website. Weird it hasn't been updated in over two years especially with the recent firmware and AC Coupling changes. Sounds like AGS will "just work" if configured the way you have it. Your settings are similar...

Re: Setting up AGS - Where can I choose "remote control" in Radian menu?

Well, checked settings and scratching head. Both Gen Alert Aux on voltage and AGS 2 min voltage set the same so I don’t know which is triggering. I do know that AGS exercise period works. Perhaps Clark can arbitrarily test with various settings. Even better perhaps one on the Red lettered/OB folks ...

Re: Setting up AGS - Where can I choose "remote control" in Radian menu?

I'm not a Radian expert by any means, and don't use AGS, but IIRC, the Radian series has two sets of Aux ports: AUX and 12V AUX. (My FX only has one which is used for another purpose by default, and REMOTE is an option.) The 12V AUX, I believe, is generally used for AGS, and since the 12V AUX port ...

You are welcome. I assumed you had thr GSLC with the associated AC breakers, if your load center is different I can help you around that. Not near my Mate so can't confirm the display, but in OpticsRE, the Remote mode shows up in the Aux Control page, under Mode selection. There's also a caution that not all options are available on all inverters. I don't know how that jibes with the Mate3 programming documentation. Remote is not an ...

Setting up AGS - Where can I choose "remote control" in Radian menu?

According to the Mate 3s Programming guide, for Inverter Relay Output setting I-8 (Mate3s programming guide page 12), there should be an option to set the mode for the inverter Aux output to option 1 "Remote". Re: Generator backup

When the grid goes down and the solar panels do not produce, the load is fed by the batteries. In other words, can the generator back up the batteries, which in turn back up th...
