Re: Access the AXS Port using a Python Program

I'm not a Python programmer, so I can't offer advice. If Python requires a serial library to communicate over a TCP/IP connection, then sure, it could be required, but that would be an odd architecture (to me). Do they have a TCP/IP library? If so, then you'd open a client connection on port 502.

Re: Access the AXS Port using a Python Program

One tip: Think SunSpec, code Modbus. In other words, the underlying protocol is Modbus, but the register layout follows SunSpec models.

Thanks. I can use the date and the system name to look at the dashboard for other spikes (assuming tech support hasn't fixed them).

Re: please clamp SOC

Thanks for sharing your observations. Having more than one data point helps us to reproduce problems, which in turn helps us find a solution. We have an open ticket to address this issue. Unfortunately, that means it won't be fixed in time for the next release, which has code freeze next Friday. Can...

Re: Mate3s network stops when internet goes down

The Mate3 and Mate3s had a bug where the Ethernet processor would stop communicating if the data link were active but the Internet connection was lost. Version 3.19.0 (Mate3) and 1.4.1 (Mate3s) have this fix, among other connectivity and calibration fixes. In about a month we'll release 3.19.1 and 1...

Re: Access the AXS Port using a Python Program

The AXS Port uses the standard Port 502 to handle Modbus-TCP/IP communication. So, your Pi would have to have an Ethernet connection to the AXS Port (on the same subnet would be best at least for development and testing, and even deployment, for security reasons). Once you connect over port 502, you...

Re: Mate 3 Cannot Recover from Ethernet Outage

I have a Mate3s which generally refuses to reconnect if I have a network issue on my LAN. As soon as I do a restart it connects OK. A couple of suggestions Thanks. We're continually looking for ways to improve our products. 1 - Would it be possible to write in the software that if the Mate3S is in ...

Re: SD card shows as write protect from MATE3

The SD cards support FAT file systems. We've added an Optics event to report when a card is not readable (not formatted), which will be released to Optics Live probably next month (it's in test now). Regarding the "read-only" issue, if formatting fixed it, then the card may have been corrupted if th...

It doesn't look like we're doing a beta test program for this release. I don't have access to that ticket system but I will ask for details.

Re: Calibration bug?

UPDATE: I found that this is a known bug with some VFXR-A models running 1.6.15 firmware (the bug is in the VFXR firmware, not the Mate3s firmware). The fix went out in 1.3.1 (which is when you first noticed the problem) but though it worked on the models we have in house for testing, for some reas...

Re: Calibration bug?

Oh, I misunderstood (I think). Let me read through this thread again. Perhaps it's not a firmware issue at all. I'll respond soon, maybe with more questions. Thanks for your patience while we figure this out!

Re: Calibration bug?

Can you try this: 1. Downgrade to 1.3.1. 2. Fix any calibration issues/values that may still be out of range. 3. Save the configuration to an SD card. 4. Upgrade to 1.4.1. 5. Restore the configuration from the SD card. 6. Verify calibration settings. Meanwhile, we're evaluating on this end, at high ...

Re: Mate3s 1.4.1 Firmware Released

Yes.

If you have an FNDC in your system, be sure to check the relay voltage calibration settings before you upgrade, then after upgrading set the calibration values to their pre-upgrade values if they've changed.

Well, then, back to the business at hand: Mate3s 1.4.1 has been posted to the firmware download page for Mate3s. Well, 1.4.2 is a month away. Anybody who has a unit with 1.4.0 on it would want to update due to the calibration issues. For users who have to travel to installations, perhaps waiting is the best approach.

Re: MATE3s 1.4.0 firmware causing calibration issue

It's been out of engineering for quite a while. Unfortunately, the team that publishes firmware updates has become very slow since the merger. I was told last Thursday that this is the next item to get published, but I've not seen it come through, nor have I received a response to yesterday's reques...

Re: Gateway offline / online every 30 min?

This is an Optics issue, not a gateway issue. Downgrading firmware or sending Mate3s (or Mate3) in for repair won't do any good, because they're not the problem. The fix is either in or soon to be in, then the problem will go away.

Re: please clamp SOC

I adjusted SoC to 75% to provide a smooth curve between the previous value (57%) and the next value (100%). I'll also look into why the value is not capped.
