Re: AGS won't drop AC input when commanded

There is another thread regarding this. I've experienced this quite often. I've reverted to manually throwing the main AC inlet circuit breaker if on grid or killing the input from the genny. If you wait an hour or so you'll find it will drop as commanded. Seems like while it is in max input it won'...

David I'm not sure exactly what the proposed shift involves but just a headsup for your webmaster. If the forum (phpBB) is going to be shifted/upgraded to the latest version 3.3.0 be warned it requires PHP of above 7.1. Having just gone through it I found a very smooth change over but many other ite...

Re: Forum Going Down For Maintenance

Hello all, On (or about) the 17th of January, we will be taking down this forum for maintenance, a shift in hosting and the addition of a security certificate. Outage and test could be up to about a day or so. As the time gets nearer and the details clearer, I'll add to this post. Watch this space....

Re: Security

Hard to believe such a company would host with GoDaddy anyway in the first place?
Most 'proper' hosting companies now provide the "S" standard in any hosting package now days.
Having said that .... it only takes one attachment being put up from a non-secure source to 'break' the secure notice.

Re: Transfer Switch

On my houseboat there is extensive use of 'lockout' switches.
For instance if I'm on shore power in & wish to use generator in the 'lockout' will prevent it until I stop the shore feedin first. Once it's on genny the same in reverse.

On my old Mate you press the button just under that flashing light & after reading the screen, press the button straight below "USE". then press OK. after a couple of seconds you should hear the genny start working & the light should stay steady on. More details of your Mate etc might help with the ...

I only have a Mate but I'm sure the later versions are the same or 'better'.
A plain network cable is used & you can have any length you desire. Ebay?
Probably won't be long till it's WiFi like Victron 702's etc. (smart phone?)
I'm sure they'll want to keep up with the 'mob'.

Re: Is there a mode where the inverter ALWAYS is providing AC, even if AC generator is running

You said it 'won't clean it up' but I have a query on that.
If you check AC volts into the inverter & then AC volts out you will see that it does alter the volts so wouldn't it also alter the Hz?

OK, thankyou.
I have an old Selectronic PS1 unit here I might swap in while I pull it to bits to take a look.'
Selectronic doesn't have AC charging or bypass but my solar will keep up this time of year. (in Australia)
Incidentally the 45 degrees we had on Wednesday was F not C!!!

Precise fan details please?

I have a VFX3024E unit. Can anyone give me some info in regards to the fans inside it please? Are both fans identical? (size & connections) 80 X 80 & 3 pin? Is there an identical one that can be used? Part number & Make/Model? I can pull it apart but at 45 degrees I don't want it down for too long!!...

What was/is wrong with the one you have? You are talking about the part the gets fixed to the wall I presume? Or the one covering the electronics?

Re: shoud we buy outback inverters

If you live in Australia I'd politely suggest you look at another brand. I asked the Australian importer for a fan & got told they are a wholesaler & to contact one of their local agents. There are no local agents anywhere around me so then they told me to contact "a user" close to me. Was 5 years a...

Re: Programming charging capacity for new generator

Very important to include country in your profile too as the reference to 120V etc is null & void in some countries.
I'd love to see a sticky explaining to everyone exactly how the charging rate is 'quoted' as in 20AC.
I'm sure most virgins read this as 20A?

Re: DROP resets to USE

I'm just adding a little to this as well. Sometimes when we've had a cloudy day and I notice the batteries are below 24.7v when it's close to bedtime I use my Mate (yep, old Mate!) to set shore power input to USE for 15 minutes or so to give a quick boost. Quite often I can't DROP the AC input. Mood...

Does this make sense? [QUOTE] o The modular construction of the GS8048A requires two DC circuit breakers or fuses. Mate giving up ??

I bought a houseboat that has an existing setup as in my profile. From the start some of the buttons on the Mate were very very slow to respond. Some I had to hold down for 20 seconds or more & then have lightening reflexes to stop after the response. I decided to try cleaning the button contacts. A...

Re: Genset Selecton

Have you overcome the problem of using a large external fuel tank for the new genny? I have discussed with dealers of running mine off the 600 litre tank under the boat like at present with the older 6.5 Honda. Both suggested warranty will be void if I do. I might just use a 12v pump through a water...
